Generation Islam Documentary Airs Tomorrow

Tomorrow night- August 13th at 9pm ET /PT the documentary Generation Islam will be airing on CNN. I am receiving a copy to review soon and can't wait- it really seems very interesting!

"CNN’s Christiane Amanpour is both a mother and renowned journalist. Her compassion and interest in children around the world, and the future for the children of the world, inform many of her projects – including 2006’s WHERE HAVE ALL THE PARENTS GONE? about HIV/AIDS orphans in Africa, and her very latest documentary, GENERATION ISLAM, about the fight for hearts and minds among young people in Afghanistan and Gaza . The two-hour documentary premieres on CNN August 13th.
More than half of the population living in Gaza are under age 18, and nearly 45 percent of the population of Afghanistan is under age 14. Among the many moving stories Christiane uncovers in the documentary is that of 12-year-old and 15-year-old brothers; one survives a harrowing journey, escaping slavery to land at an orphanage run by an America woman, the other appears to have landed in an extremist madrasa inside Pakistan. All of the stories in this documentary are moving though – and the stories give a personal context for the intensified military efforts and upcoming elections in Afghanistan , and the efforts of many Americans working in Afghanistan and Gaza .
