Dear marna1309@yahoo.com

Lately I have been so overwhelmed with emails. Every time I receive a comment I also receive an email and with all the entries for giveaways it really leaves my inbox full! Well while I was doing something on my blog I came across this lovely comment

"Dear Ashley,

I read with great interest your blog about Soy Spacasso.
Do you have someone that proofreads your script or is it just supposed to be "as is"?
There were grammer, spelling and punctuation mistakes that reflect on your education. I am sure you are very intelligent, but your education was evidently lacking.
If you are interested in someone proofreading your work before it hits publication, let me know.
marna1309@yahoo.com"

It is really funny to me on a number of levels. Here are some points I would like to make to marna1309@yahoo.com
  • First of all you left your email so you must not care if anyone sees this comment and responds to it (if one of my lovely readers really wants too:).
  • All of the "mistakes" were pulled word for word from the actual owners site- I didn't want to alter something that I am directly quoting.
  • I received a great education and graduated from high school as Valedictorian.
  • Big surprise- I'm not the Savior so I think that means that I'm not perfect....
  • Lastly- you spelled grammar wrong! Shame on you!
It is probably not in the best taste to post this. I tried to simply delete the comment but as luck would have it - it didn't work! I could be the bigger person and just keep my mouth shut but I have done that a lot in my life and simply choose not too right now. This is my blog where everyone including myself should feel safe. So Happy Blogging!

Pur Minerals Giveaway

As you may know I use mineral makeup and really can't live without it. Now as much as I love the brand (which shall remain nameless:) ) I really don't love how messy it is. With all of my buffing and tapping loose powder, it's all over the place! So when my Pur Minerals Pure Perfection Starter Kit came I couldn't believe that it was mineral makeup! It's pressed and compact. It cut my makeup application time drastically!

The Starter Kit comes with a foundation which contains SPF and also works as a concealer. Then you follow with the Mineral Glow that leaves your skin looking like it has just a "touch of sun". Lastly you apply the Universal Marble Powder for a final touch. All of this is applied using the Chisel Makeup Brush that is included in the kit.

I really love that the makeup is natural and is "Completely free of oil, alcohol, talc, fragrances, preservatives and chemical dyes". I feel like I am nourishing my skin rather then just covering up imperfections. After using Pur Minerals I really don't think I can use the mineral makeup I was using before. It just doesn't compare.

The best part? The wonderful people at Pur Minerals are giving one reader their own starter kit! To enter simply leave a comment with an item you would like to try. There is so much I want!

Guitar Hero on Tour Modern Hits and Decades

Thanks to the awesome Mom Central I had the opportunity to review the Guitar Hero On Tour Modern Hits and On Tour Decades for the Nintendo DS. Boy was my family excited! My husband Cody is a huge fan of music and was really impressed with the song selections. Each game with a Guitar Hero Guitar Grip which you can use in place of the guitar fret board. There is also a wireless feature and 28 songs to choose from!

With the Modern Hits there are great songs from bands like AFI, Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Modest Mouse and so much more!

On the Decades game you will hear from bands like Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins and Boston. With the On Tour Decades players are able to share songs and can rock out together. My two nephews came over and rocked out. We had a mini gaming get together. They loved all of the song options. These games are a perfect way to have hours of fun!

Lush Review

I knew that I could find all natural products that produced results that are even better than the cheap stuff I buy at Walmart! Lush sent me some fabulous shampoo and conditioner products for my hair and don't know if I will be able to use anything else. Lush generously sent me Big Shampoo, Seanik Shampoo Bar, Hair Doctor and Veganese Hair Conditioner.
When I opened the box I immediately smelt all the wonderful natural scents. I love each product they sent me but my favorite is the Big Shampoo. First of all a little goes a long, long way. I know this stuff will last me quite awhile. Next I love how unique it is. The raw sea salt, seaweed, lemon and lime juice really makes me want to eat my hair all day long. The scent lasts but is not overpowering just fresh. Then I follow up with the Veganesse conditioner. My hair is so soft after I use the Lush products. The Hair Doctor is a great treatment to use to repair my hair and the Seanik is perfect for traveling as it comes in a cute container.

I really am so impressed with Lush and wish I could sample all of their products. They have SO many items to choose from. I am definitely going to be giving Lush as presents for Christmas this year ( but only to people who are really deserving:) ). I know I will be thanked over and over. The entire Lush collection can be viewed at Lush.com.

A Great Evening

I just had a great night! It's the simple things nowadays that float my boat. Cody, the boys and I all went to Runnings, our local hardware and home improvement store. It used to be a True Value. Well we went to look at paint colors for the house to get an idea of what we like. We asked a woman that works there to help us and boy did she! First of all, I really wanted to get the eco friendly paint so that it would be safer for the boys. It's $40 a can! I was really bummed and she could see that and gave it to us for almost the same price as the regular paint. How stinking sweet!

Then Cody was asking her what she thought about a paint sprayer we had bought forever ago when the store was still a True Value. It has never worked for us but we never returned it because we couldn't find the receipt. Well that fabulous woman told us to bring it in and she would give us store credit. We went right home and came back and got our store credit! We got a bunch of little odds and ends that we needed and my favorite purchase is a canner that I got along with canning supplies. I have been wanting to do it for so long and now I can kick my food storage in gear! The boys got some candy and we got a night out of shopping. Gotta love it!
Have you been doing anything fun lately?

Belli Skincare Review Lotion

Here is another great chance that I had to review a Belli Skincare product! I love Belli products because of how safe and natural they are. I got to try the Belli Nourish Me Enriched Body Lotion. I love the sweet honey smell and how soft it makes my skin (even though it's for a baby- mom's can use it too!) What better way to nourish a baby's brand new skin that is so fresh and soft than with a natural and safe moisturizer?

"What is Belli’s “Nourish Me” Enriched Body Lotion?

Nourish Me” Enriched Body Lotion is a pure and gentle hydrating cream which features essential ingredients for new, developing skin. The main ingredient in this product is the essential oil of chamomile which is used to soften, smooth and soothe the skin. (Retail Cost $19.00)

Tips to Keep Baby’s Skin Safe in Sunny Weather

  • Moisturize your baby’s skin daily to prevent it from dehydration and irritation
  • When in the sun, apply SPF 50 (at least) to your baby several times through out the day
  • Keep your baby’s head protected with a hat to avoid their scalp from getting sun burn
  • Pick a spot near shade so the baby’s skin doesn’t have too much exposure to the sun"

Skin Free Review and Giveaway

Who doesn't love safe and all natural products that are affordable? Skin Free sent me some great products to review. What made me want to review them is that they are 100% natural.

I received the Whipped Tamanu Body Butter and the Sweet and Smooth Sugar Scrub. I am in heaven. I like that they use so many different types of natural oils (including organic olive oil) in their products to help nourish the skin. The Sweet and Smooth Scrub is my favorite. I used it to exfoliate my skin before I use my self tanner and really loved the results. Skin Free is available to purchase at skinfree.net as well as cvs.com and drugstore.com.

Flokati Rug Review

Doesn't this look so soft? Well it is! This is a Flokati rug which is hand woven in Greece and 100% pure wool. They are all natural and are made of entirely organic fibers. That is a huge benefit for me. I received a duck egg blue Flokati rug and put it in my boys room right by their bed. That way when they first get out of bed their cute little feet will have something soft first thing in the morning!

These rugs are perfect for everyone but especially for those with hard wood floors. They are also great for winter because of their "thick insulating properties". I know you will love them as much as I do! Flokati rugs can be purchased at overstock.com and rugsusa.com

Alice.com

I just came across this new site that I thought I would share called Alice.com. Basically you can shop online for common items you use- snacks, toiletries, household goods, etc. and they even have coupons. The best part is that shipping is free. I just signed up which is also free so I will see how I like it. I already found some all natural toothpaste that I can't get where I live so I am really excited. Has anyone else used this site? Do you like it?

Breakfast Cookie Recipe

Here is a great breakfast cookie recipe from little momma and company I want to try. I will probably try to use butter for the shortening and honey for some of the brown sugar. This is so much better than giving my boys cereal every morning- and cheaper!

Help Ashley

So I know this blog isn't to help me with all of my Firefox problems but I just can't get it figured out! So far I can't view the Blenza site ( Mr Linky), I can't leave comments on other blogs, and I can't download my Swagbucks toolbar. So frustrating! Has anyone else had problems with Firefox and does any one have any suggestions?

Playskool Super Squishy Soccer Ball Giveaway

What a nice treat for my boys when this Playskool Sports Super Squishy Soccer Ball arrived. It was so easy to inflate. It doesn't require a pump and the part that you blow into hides really easily. My boys have sure gotten a 'kick' out of it (pun intended!). We have lots of balls that the boys play with around the house but this is by far their new favorite. I love that it is so soft to help them practice before they are ready for a real one that is way too hard for them right now.

Thanks to Playskool one lucky winner will their own Super Squishy Soccer Ball! To enter please visit the Playskool site and tell me what toy you would like. For additional entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:

Baby Star Rock the Tote Review

How fun are these diaper bags? They are the latest from Baby Star and I am in love with the one they sent me!

"t's time to Rock The Tote with the new diaper bag from baby star. it's a modern classic, beautifully crafted with the modern mom (or dad) in mind. this diaper bag has room for what you need on the run, even a lap top. features a wide zipper pocket on one side and two open pockets on the other side that can hold a wipe case, bottle or cell phone. also includes matching changing pad and a BPA free wipe case. all baby star products are FORMALDEHYDE-FREE, making them safe for baby and the environment."

I received the flutter pink bag ( I need something pink with a house full of boys!). I was amazed at the quality of the bag. It is roomy and the fabric is wipe able so I don't have to worry about getting dirt on it or germs. It is also machine washable which is a huge bonus for moms! It also came with a wipe case and matching changing pad. The pad is really soft for a babies cute bottom! Even though my boys aren't babies any more I still need something big enough to carry sippy cups, snacks and all of my other stuff. I recently took my diaper bag to a playdate at the park and didn't need to worry about grass stains. I also had a sippy cup leak inside and just wiped it down! I love convenience. Rock the Tote is available in print or solid and sells for $87.99.

Baby Star has so many other great items for you and baby so feel free to visit their site and check them out!

Breast Cancer Awareness Queasy Drops Review

When I was pregnant with my oldest son I had the worst morning sickness. I know lots of women say that but in my case it's the truth! I hated running back and forth at work barely making it to the bathroom to throw up. I really wish I had the Queasy Drops I was sent by Three Lollies. I know that they will be put to good use for my next baby. Here is some info from their site:

"Looking for an organic and drug free way to fight queasiness? Morning sickness and upset stomaches are no obstacle for the Sour Raspberry flavored Queasy Drops from Three Lollies. The dietary supplement can also be used to help ease dry mouth and stimulate the appetite. Not only are Queasy Drops good for you and your loved ones, but they are good for others too! Simply purchase a pack of the Queasy Drops Organic Pink to support the STOP CANCER Marni Fund for breast cancer research. A percentage of every sale will be donated to the fund. Cure your nausea and help find a cure for breast cancer!"

I also suffer from really bad motion sickness. REALLY bad. Just going to the grocery store gets me sick! Three Lollies has other great items for motion sickness and for kids too! I wish I could try all of their products. My favorite part of course is that they are all natural and safe. Who wants to put a ton of sugar and high fructose corn syrup in their body when they are sick to their stomach or pregnant? Not me! To view the other products they carry please visit threelollies.com

Body Systems Body Butter

Body Systems is one of my new favorite online shops for natural skincare and accessories. They have something for everyone and best of all, all of there products are used with the highest quality ingredients. Here is a little about the body butters:

" Our Butters are free of any chemicals including Parabens, Phthalates, or Petro-Chemicals, are never tested on animals, contain no fillers and are perfect for doing Double, Triple or even Quadruple Duty. Add sugar for a healthy exfoliation, or apply direct to lips for perfect sun protection or slather on the body and hair, and then slip into a warm bath for a deeper moisturizing bath treatment."

I received the Olive Butter to try and love it. It feels so luxurious and leaves my skin really soft! I feel like I am truly using something from a spa and enjoy the fact that the ingredients are chemical free and safe. Body Systems doesn't just sell body butters. They have a large selection of spa items from robes to aromatherapy. What woman wouldn't love that? To view all of the products they carry visit http://www.body-systems.net/.

Kids Balance Bikes Review

When my boys received their Strider bike from Kids Balance Bikes they were on cloud 9! I couldn't get it out of the box fast enough and they were so eager to help put it together. It was easy to assemble and then we were ready to try it out. The Strider bike teaches children from ages 18 months to 5 years how to balance on a bike preparing them for the day when they want to ride a bike without training wheels. There are no pedals which allows the child to run and balance with the Strider bike.

Here are some great features for the bike from the site:
  • One of the LOWEST seat heights in the industry...just 11" from the ground and with a traditional seat saddle that's comfortable like a real bike!
  • One of the LIGHTEST running bikes on the market at just 6.9 pounds... less than 1/2 the weight of a tricycle.
  • The ONLY running bike with frame-integrated footrests ergonomically located below the saddle... allowing kids to learn advanced skills such as riding while standing
  • Kid and parent-friendly EVA molded foam tires are light weight, puncture-proof and super durable
  • One of the most ADJUSTABLE running bikes on the market with 3" of handlebar height adjustment and 5" of seat height adjustment (plus additional 2" adjustment available with optional tall seat post)
  • Accommodates children ages 18 months to 5 years old! Height range of 30" to 44" and up to 50 pounds. Seat extender can increase height capacity for a child up to 46" tall.

"Balance bikes can manage a multitude of terrains and easily glide over grass, dirt, wooden bridges, even bark. While enjoying the balance bike your child is getting ready to ride a real pedal bike.

Once a child learns to balance, glide, and steer, they can usually hop on a pedal bike (with no training wheels of course!) and be riding within one to two days."

What I love about the bike is that it builds confidence. Ki was very skeptical on his first ride and was very nervous but as we encouraged him to keep going he was able to go further and further. I'm taking him out again today to get him more used to it. I can tell how much he feels like a big boy since his Strider bike looks and feels just like a big boy bike!

Kids Balance Bikes has other balance bikes as well in a variety of styles and colors. You will be able to find something for any of your little ones! These bikes make great gifts. If you are in the market for a bike for your toddler you have to check out Kidsbalancebikes.com first! You won't regret it.

To see the amazing bike in action check out the video below.

Linky Love Giveaways

For some reason Mr Linky's site is not working for me today- it won't come up at all. I tried to disable my cookies but it didn't help. It looks as though other blogs are able to use it ok. I will try again tomorrow so that people can post their giveaways!

Brittanie's Thyme LLC Giveaway

I have been so bothered with mosquitoes this summer. Well, mostly my boys have. They have received so many mosquito bites (or stings) that it just breaks my heart. When I Brittanie's Thyme sent me items to sample I immediately put them to the test. I got to try out the Organic Insect Repellent and the Sinus Relief Pillow. Here is some info about Brittanie's Thyme:"Brittanie’s Thyme is a women-owned company dedicated to manufacturing natural and organic products that aid in producing a feeling of well-being, without the expense usually associated with high quality skin and personal care.

Our product developers unite recipes and remedies that have been used successfully for generations with the latest scientific findings regarding herbal and natural ingredients. We strive to produce products that have a minimal effect on the planet, yet provide maximum results for our customers. We do not test any products on animals.

Our belief is that natural and organic is a life choice, not a fashion or a trend. Our products are intended to be used, and used regularly. Our ingredients as well as our prices reflect this philosophy. No fillers, artificial preservatives, artificial fragrances or dyes are used. We produce small batches of each product to ensure freshness."

I was so happy to put the Organic Insect Repellant to the test. I am always looking for bug spray that is Deet free but never can find it in the small town I live in. The best part about this product? It's really affordable. I love the packaging, the smell, and that it works! I also enjoyed using the Sinus Relief Pillow. It really helped with my recent cold. I simply crunched the herbs in the pillow with my hands and then put it in my pillow case. It really helped open my nose up. It had been awhile since I was able to get a good night's sleep.

I love Brittanie's Thyme because they use quality ingredients and make the products look so pretty with their special packaging. I would recommend Brittanie's Thyme to anyone who is looking for an all natural alternative to products for the body.

Brittanie's Thyme also sent me a bottle of Organic Insect Repellent and Bug Bite Relief to send to one lucky winner. To enter please visit their site and tell me a product you would like to try. For additional entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:

Rembrandt Tooth Whitening Giveaway!

I have had noticed more and more lately that my teeth have gotten very yellow. I know it's gross but it happens. I was really excited for the opportunity to try some great Rembrandt products. I was sent their 2 Hour Whitening Kit, the new Whitening Rinse with Fluoride, their Intense Stain Toothpaste as well as the Premium Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste with Peroxide and their 5 Day Whitening Kit.

"As we continue to make great advances in oral care, sometimes we have to stop and enjoy a good laugh. Laughing releases endorphins, neurotransmitters that make you feel good. Exposing yourself to the laughter of others can have the same effect. At Rembrandt, we think laughing is essential to a healthy, happy mouth. After all, white teeth don't matter if there's nothing to smile about."

Word World Review

The cute PBS show for kids, Word World has a new dvd coming out on July 14th called Word World: Castles in the Sea. Thanks to NCircle Entertainment the boys had a blast watching some great new episodes of Word World. There are four episodes full of learning which include Castles in the Sea, The Dancing Duck Bonanza, A Star is Born ( the boy's favorite) and Tick Tock Space Clock. The dvd also includes great extras including fun songs.
The boys love Word World and I love that they are learning their letters and trying to spell. We have watched this dvd so many times already and is perfect to get ready for summer. You can pre order Word World: Castles in the Sea at NCircle Entertainment.

Aromatic Health Review and Giveaway

I ♥ all natural products! I love when I can treat something with ingredients from nature rather than a chemical. I also have been reading more about aromatherapy and think I have found a new hobby! That is why I was so happy to try products from Aromatic Health.

"Aromatic Health is committed to promoting physical, emotional and spiritual well being through products that are safe and natural. Taking a clinical approach to essential oil therapy, Aromatic Health takes pride in knowing that the products and services we provide offer our clients a safe and natural alternative to achieve a healthy and balanced lifestyle."

Here is some info about Aromatic Health: "

The word "aromatherapy" has become a marketing buzz word and has been used for products which may contain natural or synthetic essential oils, even in minute amounts. Aromatherapy, and the use of essential oils, has many clinical applications. It is this aspect of aromatherapy that is our focus at Aromatic Health.

With ten years as a practicing aromatherapist, Michelle Reynolds, Aromatic Health's founder and owner, uses her knowledge and experience to create essential oil products, and provide consultation services to aid in the healing of the body, mind and spirit.

At Aromatic Health, all of our products are hand made, using only pure and organic essential oils and raw ingredients. Our products are cruelty free and do not contain synthetic fragrances, parabens, petrochemicals or preservatives.

We also use a minimal amount of packaging and promote the recycling or the re-use of our jars and bottles."

I was able to sample their Headbalm which helps relieve headaches and migraines, as well as Ah-Choo! which helps with congestion. These products came at just the right time since I have had some sort of cold or infection for two weeks now. I really had a hard time sleeping at night and rubbed the Ah-Choo! on my back and chest and could really tell a difference. I also used the Headbalm to help relieve my sinus headaches and noticed a difference. The thing that is so neat about these products is that a lot of them can be used on children too!

I am so glad to have had the chance to try products from Aromatic Health and am already coveting their other products. I have been trying to see which medicines in my cabinet I could get replace with Aromatic Health.

Aromatic Health is giving one lucky winner their own Citrus Facial Toner! To enter please visit their site and tell me which item you would like to try. For additional entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:

Baby Banana CD Review and Giveaway

If you're a mom then you probably know all about driving with kids music in the car. I have managed to avoid the boys music in the car until I received Deri Derryberry's new cd Baby Banana. When it arrived in the mail I was actually excited to play it. The boys were the real guinea pigs and they loved it. The songs are all so fun and upbeat with each one telling a unique story. The boy's favorite songs were Baby Banana and the Ice Cream song.

Debi Derryberry is a popular childrens entertainer and voice over artist who has produced 2 award-winining kid's music CDs - "Very Derryberry" and "What A Way To Play", as well as a children's music video DVD and childrens book "Baby Banana and the Licorice Tree". Along with her acting and voiceover work (Debi is the voice of Jimmy Neutron!), Debi has a busy concert schedule with a show that includes songs from her music CDs aimed at children aged 2-6 years old.

Debi's songs really trigger the imagination. My oldest son always is asking questions as we listen to the songs. You can watch the video below to hear one of her songs:

If you would like to win your own copy please tell me who you would give this to ( it can be for yourself too!) For additional entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:

Uprinting's Photo Competition

As you may know one of my sponsors is Uprinting.com. UPrinting.com is a leading online provider of business cards, color brochures and mailing postcards.
I love the momentum they have with their giveaways and I especially love how good they are to me! Right now Uprinting.com is sponsoring a photo contest. They are looking for the best summer photo. I am posting mine in hopes of winning $250 and a free 16x20" Gallery Wrapped Canvas Print!

Here is my little Jackson going fishing for the first time! He didn't really seem to care about the fish though! He had so much fun digging for worms. I can just see all the wonder in his eyes ( and curiosity). That is why I love this picture because it is proof that this beautiful boy is ALL boy. It makes me feel so good inside to have a memory of a day when he had fun and got dirty doing it. That is why I chose this as my summer pic. That's what summer is all about- having fun outdoors and playing hard all day.

Protect A Bed Mattress Cover Giveaway

With my allergies and asthma and two little boys that sneak into our bed in the middle of the night- it is a very good idea to have a reliable mattress protector. Awhile ago I purchased some for my boys when they were potty training and I did not like what I bought. The covers had an awful plastic chemical smell and I did not feel safe using them for the boys. I also hated the loud noise they made! When I received the Premium Mattress Protector from Protect A Bed I was surprised with the quality.

It's nothing like the cheaps ones that I had purchased. It is so soft which is a bonus for my skin but now no loud sounds when I move on the bed! Not only does it help against preventing spills (or leaky toddler bladders) from getting to my mattress but it prevents against bacteria and dust mites- which helps with my allergies and asthma! Here are some other benefits from the Protect A Bed site:
  • Guaranteed to moderate temperature and enhance sleeping comfort
  • Waterproof yet air vapor porous - acting the same way as human skin
  • Effective in preventing bacteria and dust mites from breeding in your pillow and mattress (a major cause of asthma, eczema and rhinitis)
  • Protects mattresses from stains (accidental spills, perspiration, bodily fluids)
  • Machine washable on hot, tumble dry medium
  • Especially helpful in cases of incontinence
  • Ultra thin with four-way stretch does not detract from the comfort of the mattress
  • Can be used on all visco elastic, inner spring and latex mattresses
  • Fitted-sheet style
  • Expandable skirt ensures mattress protector fits any depth of mattress (8" to 20")
  • Wash durability rating: > 200 washes
  • Soft and super absorbent
  • Can be sterilized at 121° C/250° F
  • Tested for harmful substances according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100
Having a safe and effective mattress cover is such a piece of mind for me. The kind people at Protect A Bed are offering one lucky reader their own Premium Mattress Protector in any size! That is up to a $99.99 value! To enter please visit the site and tell me what other item you would like to try- they have a lot! Problems Viewing Blog

To all the wonderful people trying to read my blog and having problems viewing it-
Blogger is not always that helpful when a blog user is having technical difficulties and I unfortunately am one of those people. Several blogs have had problems where the page will shut down. The only answers that I have gotten are that it is either widgets on my blog- which I have no way of knowing which one- or it is Internet Explorer. It was recommended to me to use the latest version of IE but that didn't work. Now most advice I am getting is to use Firefox. I am trying that now so we will see. If you are having problems with my blog and others you may want to download the latest version of Firefox. Hope that helps and if anyone has a solution I'm all ears! (Just be very specific with me since I am not Super computer smart:)

SKLZ Sport Brella Review and Giveaway

I don't really have any outdoor sports equipment or gear. My family just hasn't spent that much time in the outdoors since my husband and I got married. We did just move with a minute next to a national park so we are excited for the summer. That is why I am so excited to get to review the SKLZ Sport Brella. My first outdoor gear! The Sport Brella is a great way to give you protection from the elements (rain, wind, sun ) while being able to enjoy the outdoors. The cool thing is that it has SPF 50+. That is such a bonus when you have kids! It can be used in a for so many different things. Going to the beach, camping ( this would be great to keep the bugs at bay), sporting events, anything you can think of! The Sport Brella can also be used in a standing up position. I also enjoy the convienient carrying case that you can carry on your shoulder. It makes it really convenient for walking to your destination without having to drag heavy equipment. I will be going "camping" this weekend ( we will stay in a cabin) and am really looking forward to using my Sport Brella.

You can view the Sport Brella in action in the video below to get a better idea of how it works.

The part that is even cooler? The wonderful people at SKLZ are offering one reader their own Sport Brella! To enter please visit SKLZ and tell me an item that you would like. For additional entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
Once again I thought today was Monday so here I go!
Ki did not touch my legs and say "mommy you have wiskers too!"
Jackson did not get the words to a song wrong and started singing" I'm going to make love to you"
The boys did not destroy one of my special foamy type pillows right after I told them to leave it alone
I did not vacuum the lovely 70's carpet in my kitchen today
I did not wear another up do in my hair ie messy bun
I did not sleep on the couch again so that my coughing wouldn't wake up my husband
So what are your Not Me's?

Proactive Parenting Guest Article

I really live for these articles- hope it helps anyone out there who needs it!

Don’t You Dare Open the Birthday Girl’s Present!
It happens at most birthday parties; a child tries to “help” the birthday girl unwrap her presents. The other moms shoot dirty looks at the non‐birthday girl’ mom, which forces her to spring into action. Mom admonishes her child as she tries to move her away from the gifts and the glaring looks. The non‐birthday girl resists which causes mom to get even more intense. Finally, since nothing else is working, mom picks up her screaming child and takes her out of the room to make her stop. There are two big questions here.

1. Is a portion of this scenario created by the glaring looks of others?
2. Is there another way to handle this situation so the non‐birthday girl would stop“elping”yet
still teach her what to do instead? Yes to both questions.

• Timing is the first key. Knowing when to use this tip is the most important part of the process
If you overuse it the non‐birthday girl may translate it as nagging and will ignore you.
If you only use this tip once and walk away thinking that’s all there is to it, it won’t work either.
This requires parents to stay close by and teach, just like everything in parenting does.
Parents need to begin just as they feel themselves getting annoyed with their child’s behavior.
Waiting too long can cause you to use an angry tone of voice and the child won’t see this as
instructive and supportive and will most likely ignore you.
Watch your child and get to her as soon as you see her eyeing the gifts—not afterwards.
This is a ProActive technique. Most parents deal with things after they’ve happened, here I’m recommending that you deal with things before they get going.

• Supporting not correcting is the second key and really does cause better listening
Mom says, “I want to correct my child not support her when she exhibits misbehavior.” The beauty of this tip is the correction is hidden in the support. There’s no way your child can miss what you’re asking her to do. She experiences this as praise and everyone loves to be praised for good behavior. The praise is filled with information and is used instead of a correction. Better behavior follows because the child is listening, which is vastly different than the normal yelling and punishment used in situations like this.

• Repetition is the third key Like so many things during the toddler and preschool years teaching a little one requires repetition. A young child’s brain can only absorb so much information while being corrected. Parents need to remember that teaching a young child requires repeating the instructions more than once. Normal is at least 3‐10 times in the first few minutes. This allows her to hear you, see how serious you are, think about it and apply it to the situation, and understand there’ no wiggle room. It takes more than one repetition.

• Acting Proactively is the fourth key
Instead of saying, “get away from the gifts!” as she’s ripping off the wrapping paper—become proactive.

Watch her and just as she’s eyeing the gifts walk up and whisper, “It’s hard not to help, that’s some good waiting you’re doing, good job!” Since there’s no yelling, punishing or removing her from the party she’ll actually listen. However, she will unconsciously test what you’ve just said by doing it again. Look closely to see your next opportunity. As she moves in to “help” again she’ll glance up to see your reaction. Walk up and whisper the statement again. Do this several times. When all of this is fully understood switch from words to a thumbs up signal. This works so much better than yelling in public and everyone gets to have a good time at the party! This also works in other situations too. It works when she’s waiting in line, when she’s waiting for a turn, waiting for your attention, or when she’s waiting to get in the car as you load the baby or groceries. The more you use this tip the more ideas you’ll come up with.

The articles will stop for the summer and start up again in the fall. Sharon Silver is the founder and director of ProActive Parenting, www.proactiveparenting.net a site offering downloadable seminars to help parents lovingly teach and correct behavior as they deal with everyday toddler and preschooler behavior.

New TNT Season Primieres!

There are some great shows airing tonight on TNT. I really can't wait for Hawthorne since it shows the nursing side of things. It will give me a good look into how hard it will be!
Season Premiere: HAWTHORNE

Chief Nursing Office Christina Hawthorne struggles through a tough day at the hospital while also trying to cope with the anniversary of her husband’s death in the series premiere of TNT’s newest drama series HAWTHORNE
“Pilot” – Premieres Tuesday, June 16, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)
As TNT’s dynamic new series opens, Christina Hawthorne, chief nursing officer for Richmond Trinity Hospital , races to work to try to prevent a suicide attempt by David, an end-stage cancer patient and best friend to her husband. It is the beginning of a long day for Christina, a day that happens to be the first anniversary of her husband’s death. Putting her mourning on hold, Christina turns her focus to Ray Stein, a nurse who gets into hot water when he goes against his instincts and administers a doctor’s questionable treatment; Isabel, a homeless woman who brings a sick infant to the hospital; Camille, Christina’s rebellious daughter who has decided to take a stand for free speech in school; and Amanda, Christina’s former mother-in-law who also happens to be a member of the hospital board.
Here is a sneak peek:

The other one I am super excited for is Wedding Day. I love a good real romantic story! These are real couples who want so badly to have the wedding of their dreams but have had to go through a lot of struggles first.

Season Premiere: WEDDING DAY

A near-fatal car accident postpones a wedding in the series premiere of TNT’s uplifting unscripted drama WEDDING DAY

“Holli & Steve” – Premieres Tuesday, June 16, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT)
Just four days before his wedding day in 2007, Steve received a call that his bride-to-be, Holli, had been injured in a near-fatal car crash and had only a 50% chance of surviving. After six days in a coma, she finally came to, but every day since then has been a struggle to withstand the long, painful road to recovery. Holli and Steve’s walk down the aisle includes a New York shopping spree, a Badgley-Mishka wedding dress and Manolo Blahnik shoes. The couple even gets to enjoy a special performance by Boyz II Men, who were moved when they heard Holli and Steve’s story.

Season Premiere: SAVING GRACE

An investigation into the death of a police officer goes terribly wrong while Grace tries to connect with a young drug addict in the emotionally powerful season premiere of TNT’s acclaimed drama SAVING GRACE

“We’re Already Here” – Tuesday, June 16, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)

When Grace tries to reach out to Neely – the young drug addict who shares visions of Earl – Grace winds up in the middle of what could be a plot by an anti-government group linked to the recent death of a police officer. Grace’s clumsy, off-the-books investigation goes especially bad when Neely is injured. Meanwhile, Grace and Ham get caught in a compromising position, and Butch makes a surprise announcement.

Belli's Elasticity Oil Review

If you didn't see my last review for Belli Skincare than you can read about how much I love it here. I adore Belli and have to use them for my next pregnancy! I was fortunate enough to receive their Elasticity Belly Oil which smells so heavenly. It has a lavender scent and I love lavender. Here are some of the main ingredients:

Gotu Kola Extract: Used to increase collagen production

Vitamin E: A strong antioxidant that helps prevent tissue damage

Cocoa Butter: Emollient used to soften and smooth the skin

Collagen Hydrolysates: Marine-derived protein that provides amino acids
needed for collagen production

"What is Belli’s Elasticity Belly Oil?
Elasticity Belly Oil is one of Belli’s signature products that features ingredients
shown in published research to decrease the risk of getting stretchmarks by up to 39%,
and cause any stretchmarks that do appear to be less noticeable. It is recommended to apply this product in a circular motion on the stomach, breasts, hips and buttocks morning and night through out pregnancy."

I know that when I was pregnant the skin on my belly did not like being stretched and pulled. It was so itchy and uncomfortable. I really wish I had this since it is safe and smooth. This is a must for any pregnant woman. What a great way to pamper yourself!

Carousel Designs Review

I just received the most adorable and luxurious crib baby blanket from Carousel Designs. It is just as soft and plush as it looks in the picture. The style is Sage Damask which is so trendy right now. Carousel Designs has so many beautiful pieces of baby bedding for boys and girls. I'm used to my boys getting robbed in the cuteness factor when it comes to bedding but Carousel Designs certainly makes up for that.

They also carry much more than just bedding for cribs. They have bedding for toddlers rooms as well and fun accessories like decorative pillows and mobiles. What I love is they do monogramming to make it extra personal. There are so many things to choose from!

This is one of my favorite baby bedding sets. I wish I could take this whole room home with me for my next baby. Carousel Designs has really unique and trendy fabric selections that are really durable- which is important when you have a little one! If you or someone you know is having a baby or even has a toddler, this is the place to go to decorate the nursery or room. There are so many options with Carousel Designs!

The Eve Organics Winner is Tylerpants

All Moved!

Today we moved from a very large house into a MUCH smaller and older home in another town. It has been a long day but things went pretty smooth. We were so fortunate to have such wonderful people from our church help move everything! I feel so blessed that they took the time and energy to come move us. If any of the men's wives that helped are reading this- Thank you for lending me your husband!

Now we have boxes everywhere and I feel so overwhelmed. Most of the stuff that we have to put in our basement for storage can't go down for a little while because our lanlord will be putting new flooring in. So things will be a little out of control. I hate out of control! I'm not sure where to begin.

Does anyone have any unpacking tips to share with me? I really need some!

A Post For my Fellow Blog Reviewers

I really have to share this post from Life Starring the Kids and Me! She clears up some common misconceptions on Blog Reviewers- we are not all that bad! I really like what she had to say at the end about how companies should really send the giveaway product to the winner rather than expecting the reviewer to pay for shipping to send it out. Amen to that! You can read it here.

Glamourmom Giveaway

One of the major problems after I had my first baby was trying to nurse. I'm not talking about the actual nursing but dealing with it when I went out of the house. It was such a struggle to nurse with my clothes. I didn't want to wear the typical nursing tops that I had seen because they just weren't cute. I also had to unhook my nursing bra so I just had a bunch of hooks! My regular clothes however were not practical either. I really wish I had a Glamourmom tank back then. For my next baby however, I will be prepared.

Glamourmom tanks are have built in nursing bra's which make nursing so much easier. They offer the lift and support you need as well. Glamourmom doesn't just have tanks. They carry swimsuits, sleepwear, and much more, all to help you nurse.

I received the beautiful Nursing Bra Long Tank in Berry Flora (pictured above). I love the quality of the material and really like how stretchy it is. I know this will be getting a lot of uses! If you would like to win your own nursing tank or top in your choice, please visit the Glamourmom site and leave me a comment with your favorite item. Barbar Hair Tools Giveaway!

I have been using the same hair dryer for about 3 years now. I hate it. I paid about $20 bucks for it and while it has lasted me a long time- it blows. I know I am soooo funny! But seriously it really does not meet my expectations. It smells if I start it and stop it and then start it again. It smells awful! It also takes me forever to dry my hair. Being the cheapo that I am I have refused to get a new blow dryer until it kicks the dust. Then I was given the chance to review this bad boy.

It's the Barbar Italy 3800 Ionic Charger Blow Dryer. The kind the professionals use. I feel so spoiled. Here are it's features: The Barbar Italy 3800 Ionic Charger Blow Dryer is equipped with an ionic charger making hair soft and shiny!
AC Motor
11 foot cord
2000 Watts
Heat 302°F/150°C

This blow dryer is amazing. It makes my hair soft and dries it in no time at all which is what every busy woman needs! Barbar Hair Tools has so many different hair tools that the professionals use- curling irons, flat irons, hair clippers, steamers and more. It goes to show that you get what you pay for.

I really love when I have the chance to giveaway an item that is fabulous and here is one today! One winner will receive the same blow dryer that I did! This is a $150 Value!

Hapari Swimwear Giveaway

I found another fabulous modest site! Hapari Swimwear has all sorts of modest tankinis, bikinis, men's swim shorts, and junior girls swimwear. I really love this site because it is so much more than just swimsuits. Here are some "Hapari Secrets": Every swimsuit top can be worn three different ways. You can change the straps to have different looks- halter, criss cross or tank. You can mix and match any top with any bottom. Nouriva Repair Moisturizing Cream

I have been sick for the last week and half. I have some sort of nasty cold and it has been such a pain. Whenever I get a cold I ALWAYS get a chapped nose and chapped upper lip from blowing my nose so many times. Since I have also been packing and moving, all of my lotions and creams are packed away. I normally have to put something on my skin and upper lip during a cold to keep it moisturized and soothed.

So the other night I was looking around our packed up house trying to find something to put on my chapped skin. Then I remembered receiving Nouriva Repair Moisturizing Cream in the mail to review. I read about how it is made for extremely dry skin and can be used anywhere. So I gave it a try and am sooooo glad I did.

It not only worked but it worked immediately. I only needed to use the tiniest amount since a little goes a long way. I felt relief and felt like my poor skin had been soothed. The best part was that my nose didn't look all greasy like it does with other products. It soaked right into my skin!

"With a unique combination of the three lipids that skin needs to stay smooth; ceramide 3, cholesterol and free fatty acids, along with a combined base formula that features glycerin, paraffin, mineral oil and
carnauba wax, Nouriva Moisturizing Cream is perfect for hard-to treat dry and sensitive skin. Nouriva Repair Moisturizing Cream does not contain preservatives and is fragrance-free and non-greasy."

Just because it's summer doesn't mean your skin doesn't get parched. After being outside in the hot sun or running your AC your skin can really take a beating. Nouriva Repair Moisturizing Cream is perfect for anyone needin a little TLC anywhere on their skin. For more information on Nouriva or to purchase it please visit www.dermadoctor.com or can be purchased ar pharmacies nationwide.

CoCo BonBons Review and Giveaway

I never really buy my boys clothes because fortunately they have grandparents that have been buying them since they were born. But there are the times when I just want to get them something super cute. Then I found CoCo BonBons and am addicted. They have the cutest styles for your child with really unique prints.

Here is some info from Coco BonBons:

The first line presented by coco bonbons was for the Fall 2006 season, and it was an instant success! Over 100 stores chose the children’s clothing initially and that number has quickly multiplied.Using a bright color palette and clever design features, coco bonbons has taken some of the universal loves of children and brought them to life on coats and separates. Parents will appreciate the quality fabrics and detailed embroidery of these wearable works-of-art while children will treat the clothes like a favorite toy--they won't go anywhere without them. The Founder, Coco Kyriopoulos, holds an MBA from University of Chicago, a BA from Vanderbilt University and a “MOM” from Charlie (4 years) and Phoebe (2 years). After 12 years in investment banking and business, she decided to combine her creative skills, business acumen, and love of children to start coco bonbons™. Inspired by her friends’ children and her own, Coco names each one of her designs after them and draws upon what they love most.

I was very fortunate to receive two outfits from CoCo BonBons. One is this Hallie Owl Print Dress. I am sending it to my friend's daughter who I know will just adore it. I can't wait. I also received an adorable Cooper plaid shirt and short set that is so cute on Jackson. It has become his new favorite church outfit. What was so neat was that both outfits came in a matching drawstring bag which I know we can put to good use!

Right now CoCo BonBons is having a huge summer sale with up to 80% off! Plus one lucky winner will receive an outfit from Coco BonBons! How sweet is that?!

Mineral Basics Giveaway

Don't these colors look fun? As you may already know I love mineral makeup. Up until now I had never really used mineral eye makeup before. I am now in love with it and can't get enough. I also have come to realize that I cannot stay devoted to my pricey mineral makeup brand that I have been purchasing. Not after using Mineral Basics makeup.

Mineral Basics is all natural and hand crafted. After the owner, Chandi struggled with her own skin issues, and couldn't find a formula that was just right for her, she created her own. Mineral Basics carries so many varieties of mineral makeup as well as a large color selection. I am especially impressed with their skincare products. They carry anti-aging products as well as for blemished skin.

I really want to try this oil they carry. It's called Emu Oil and is supposed to be the best thing for all types of skin. It sounds like a miracle worker and is Mineral Basics top selling product. I received the Easy Eye Color Mineral Makeup Kit. I picked out one according to my eye color. It came with exact step by step instructions on how to apply the makeup too. The guide was very helpful since it was the first time using mineral makeup on my eyes. The colors are sooooo pretty and vibrant and I loved how long it lasted. My eye shadows usually fades after just a couple of hours but this stayed on all day.

One winner will receive a Easy Eye Color Mineral Makeup Kit of their choice! Please visit Mineral Basics and tell me what product you would like to try. For additional entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:

B as in Beauty Review

B as in Beauty is a great book that deals with an many women (including myself) face- body issues! The main character's name is Beauty but she doesn't even feel like she can live up to the name. Then she meets a woman in New York who changes all of that for her. I really appreciated this book as it brought up many things I can relate to. It reminded me a lot of how insecure I was before I got married! The whole dating thing, loving yourself thing, being happy with life thing! This book is a good read and is perfect when you want to just curl up with a good book and escape for awhile. Thank you Hachette Book Group for sending this to me!

David Garrett CD Review

First of all I just have to say is "Wow"! Ok he's hot, I got that out of the way. Now on to business. This is the amazingly talented David Garrett and I am so lucky to have the chance to review his cd. He plays the violin and I really love the violin. The man can play! Here is some info about him:
"David Garrett is already a huge star in Europe, as well as the Far East . He plays nightly to thousands of adoring fans, particularly in Germany where he has already completed a sold-out arena tour, conquered the charts and garnered two gold discs for both of his records released there. On the famous Last Night of Proms in the UK , he played to a crowd of 40,000 people, and also appeared at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in an impressive six concerts in seven days. His solo album released in the UK became a Top 20 chart fixture. Now, he's set to conquer a whole new terrain with his first American release, simply entitled, David Garrett.
His international career is multi-faceted. With arresting good looks and charisma, David landed a deal as a global brand ambassador for Banana Republic in 2009, and has additional endorsements overseas with brands including Audi and Montblanc. Dubbed, "the fastest violinist in the world," by German paper Kolner Stadt-Anzeigere, the incredible violinist will be in the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records, as the fastest-ever performer of the Flight of the Bumblebee, clocking in at a blistering 66 seconds."

His cd has several familiar songs that he makes sound so unique and beautiful. Songs like Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal, Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, and also includes the classics like Air by Johann Sebastian Bach. I love classical music and I really enjoy his take on old favorites. If you would like more info on David Garrett , to listen to his songs, or to purchase his cd please visit http://david-garrett.com/

Diane Birch CD Review

Thanks to the One2One Network I have had the awesome opportunity to review the new Diane Birch cd which debuted on June 2nd. Here is some info about Diane Birch and her music.

"Bio:
For singer-songwriter Diane Birch, music was a refuge. Although Diane was born in Michigan, her childhood was spent on the move as the daughter of a preacher, living between Zimbabwe, South Africa and Australia, before her parents finally settled in Portland, Oregon. When she was in her early teens, Diane absorbed a unique and cosmopolitan perspective on life that shines through her music and makes a simple categorization of it impossible.

The result? Diane Birch sounds like an old favorite, with all the sparkle and magic of a breakthrough talent. People says she sounds like a combination of early Carole King, Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks, with a little Joss Stone and Cat Power mixed in. Bible Belt is only her first record, but it’s one of the most accomplished albums you’ll hear all year. From the opening track “Fire Escape” to the closing “Magic View,” Diane’s stunning voice is mesmerizing.
Written entirely by Diane, Bible Belt was recorded in New York City and New Orleans with an impressive team of Grammy-winning producers: S-Curve Records founder Steve Greenberg, soul legend Betty Wright and Mike Mangini, in their first project together since producing Joss Stone’s first albums. "

To me Diane Birch sounds like a cross between Norah Jones and Joss Stone but very upbeat. I am listening to her cd as I type this and love the good move it is putting me in. So far my favorite song is called "Rise Up". It makes me feel empowered!

The best part is that for every album that is purchased through the widget above or on my sidebar, $1 will be donated to the March of Dimes! So if you are on the fence about buying the cd let me tell you that I love the cd and it is so cool to help out for a good cause!

Xen-Tan Review

I am so white it's not even funny. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I just really miss my tanning days in college when I was young and not so smart about taking care of my skin. Then the words Skin Cancer became very noticeable to me. Around the same time both my dad and my grandpa had to have procedures to get skin cancer removed. My grandpa's included a very lengthy surgery on his scalp. The cancer had gone all the way down to the bone in his skull! Since then I have been a freak about not getting a burn or even a tan- because that too is a sign of skin damage. Well, after many trials of Sunless Tanning lotions I have finally found one that I love and that works!

I got to try the Xen-Tan Deep Bronze Luxe and was a bit nervous. The words Deep Bronze made me think I would look way too dark. I was so wrong. Within three hours I had a natural looking tan that was even and pretty. It contains Shea Butter, Vitamin E and anti-oxidants. The best part is the Vanilla scent. Totally natural. Xen-Tan products also use DHA as an active ingredient which controls the level of the color of the tan. I would recommend this to anyone wanting an easy fuss- free way to tan and that wants a safe and natural tan. For more info and to see all of the other products they carry go to xen-tan.com. To purchase Xen-Tan products please visit www.studiobeautymix.com.

Anniversary

Today is my husband and I's 5 year wedding anniversary! I thought I would share our story. First off I was preparing to serve a mission for my church and was trying to get all my bills paid off. I was working at Costco as a cashier and box person and Cody was my supervisor. Oh yeah!
After working for a couple of months we started flirting with each other. Now at Costco you can't date someone in a position above you or you could get fired. I knew that I would be the one to have to make the move. It sounds corny but I prayed about it. I didn't want to take the chance of getting fired. I also thought it was going to be a complete waste of time since I was waiting on my call for my mission.
So I very discreetly slipped him my number. He waited 3 days to call me!!!!!!! I know! He said it's guy code. Whatever. I thought I was going to be fired for sure since I hadn't heard from him. But then he did call. Then we went on our first date and the sparks were there. We were really paranoid that someone from work would see us so we totally had the whole living on the edge thing going for us! After that we were together or talked on the phone everyday.
About 2 weeks later we were set we were going to get married. Pretty crazy. On my 21st birthday which was shortly after we started dating, he told me he loved me. They were the sweetest words! Soon after Cody officially proposed and my mission call was canceled. We started dating in Feb. and were married in June so we didn't waste any time. On our one year wedding anniversary we were also sealed in the Mesa AZ temple for time and all eternity.
While our life has been crazy since then I don't regret a thing. I love the promise and hope that our future brings and I love the family we have created. Cody and I are complete opposites in every way, we balance each other out. I love you Cody and can't wait to see what the next 5 years brings! Hopefully some peace and quite!

Not Me Monday

Yeah, I know it's not Monday but I went the whole day thinking it was- yeah I don't know how that is possible! I even did Family Home Evening! So I thought I would post Not Me Monday since it is the rare occasion that I have anything to write about.
  • I did NOT catch the boys cold today.
  • The house that we were supposed to get did NOT fall through the day before we were supposed to move.
  • I did NOT pack up our whole house.
  • I did NOT get depressed about the move and sit around all day feeling sorry for myself.
  • I did NOT find a new old house to rent today!
  • I did not let my boys take a late nap so that they did NOT fall asleep until 10:45 tonight.
  • June 4th is NOT my 5 year wedding anniversary! Holla!
  • I did NOT get a ton more really cool stuff to review and giveaway in the mail today.

So what have you NOT done lately?

I LOVE Boon!

I was so super excited when a wonderful package from Boon arrived with all of these goodies! I have been coveting this Bug Pod for forever! I can't believe I went this long without it. The boys have so many bath toys it's insane and at the end of the bath I have nowhere to put them. Then they get all gross and I have to wash and disinfect the toys. With the bug pod I just scoop up the toys and hang them to dry. Super easy!
But wait, I also received these awesome bath toys. The toys are made to not absorb water which reduces mold and mildew. The boys really liked the mini- scrubbies because now they can wash themselves like mom and dad do.

And lastly, I received the Flo which rocks my world! It is a water deflector, faucet cover, and bubble bath dispenser all in one! I love that it keeps my little guys heads safe during bath time and they love how the bubbles come out.
Boon is one of my new favorite companies. Not only do they make items that are functional and make my life easier, but they are so cool to look at as well. I also like the fact that they donate 10% of their profits to children's charities. Boon has won my heart. Boon has even more items that you can check out on their site so head on over!

Here is another great cause to support, and cute too!

Family Reach Foundation & My Pillow Pets Launch Unprecedented Fundraiser to Support Families Fighting Pediatric Cancers!
Over 50% of online sales will be donated to help cover the day-to-day expenses families face during treatment

Family Reach Foundation (http://www.familyreach.org/) &
My Pillow Pets have teamed up to raise much-needed funds for families fighting pediatric cancers and other life-threatening illnesses! My Pillow Pets, which are cuddly plush animals that unfold into super-soft pillows, will donate an amazing 55% of the sale of every Pillow Pet sold online when customers reference “Family Reach” at the checkout. Family Reach helps families deal with the everyday bills that pile up during treatment, from transportation to monthly mortgage payments.

The My Pillow Pets website makes it very easy for supports to contribute to Family Reach Foundation. When customers place their order on the site (http://www.mypillowpets.com/), they will see a drop-down menu at the checkout labeled “Where Did You Hear About Us.” They should then select “Family Reach Foundation”, at which point 55% of the sale will be donated to the non-profit, whose goal is to provide families with emotional and financial support.

Family Reach’s network includes hospitals all across the country. Many of these hospitals are already using My Pillow Pets in the infusion and recovery rooms to offer a source of comfort to children who are receiving treatment. In addition to donating a portion of the proceeds, My Pillow Pets is encouraging its online customers to add an additional $1.00 to their shopping carts, which will go directly to Family Reach. Umi Shoe Review

Aren't these shoes so stinkin' adorable? They are from Umi Shoes, a fabulous shoe company for children and infant feet. Here is some info from their site:

At Umi, we build real children's shoes. Not floppy leather slipper socks. And not miniature grown-up shoes. We know a lot about growing feet. Front to back. Side to side. Top to bottom. Umi shoes are designed with children's feet in mind.Around here we have some pretty high standards. We craft our shoes from the highest quality nappa and nubuck leather, with carefully constructed lasts. Our manufacturing process includes more than twenty quality control checks to ensure that every pair of shoes meets our standards. The result: Umi shoes are flexible, supportive, built to fit, and go the distance.

Umi Shoes are also environmentally friendly! They package their shoes in recycled material and use non- toxic materials when making their shoes. Right up my alley! I received a pair of Navy Zig-Zag shoes for Jackson and he just loves them. He won't wear any of his others right now and every night asks if he can wear them to bed. They must be comfortable!

You have to check out all the other way cute and trendy designs at Umi Shoes.

Dapper Snapper Giveaway

My boys have some seriously skinny hips. They both wear shorts and pants that are for kids much younger then them so that they fit! I was so happy to try out Dapper Snappers which is a really cool type of belt that snaps in the back of the pants or shorts and cinches in the back and instantly makes them fit! I have been using them for a week now on the boys and I don't know how I made it without one before!
The boys are also much happier now that they don't have to stop playing constantly to pull up their pants. One lucky winner will win 2 Dapper Snappers! To enter please visit their site and tell me which one you would choose. For additional entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:

With two little boys I don't get to do the whole jewelry thing with them- as much as they want me too! I do however get to where jewelry that shows off that I'm a mom. At Little Jewel you can find a large assortment of jewelry for mother, child and grandparent.

Little Jewel has so many great pieces of jewelry to celebrate the birth of a child. I really love the girls earrings that are perfect for a baby girl or child. I was able to sample the beautiful Sterling Silver Boy Pendant.

Isn't it classy? I love it and of course the boys think it's pretty special when they see me wear it. I really love the quality of the pendant. You can just tell it isn't made with cheap materials.

Share A Blog Monday

Today I came across Not Worth Writing. She is one of my followers and is new to blogging. She is 26 and from Mexico. I really love her style of writing and how talks about motherhood. She seems really open and honest which is what I love most about reading other blogs. I hope you check her blog out and show your support with comments if you want!

On another note I am totally loving pre-cut watermelon right now. With the move we haven't been buying very many groceries. So today I bought some watermelon that was pre-cut, which I never do because it isn't the most economical. I have to say though it was totally worth it! Then while I was eating it the cutest baby bunny was laying in the grass outside of my window. So neat. I can't believe I just blogged about watermelon and a bunny. Are you asleep yet?

What are your favorite things right now?

Fairhaven Health Review

My husband and I have been going back and forth about when to start trying for another little bundle of joy. We were all set to go until he got laid off so that put a damper on things! However, I know we will one day so I still love to review items that have anything to do with pregnancy, babies, maternity, you name it!
So when I saw Fairhaven Health I was really excited because it gives me something to look forward to when we finally are ready. Fairhaven Health is a great place to get all of your fertility and pregnancy items. The products are great for couples struggling to get pregnant as well as items to help if you are pregnant or nursing such as supplements, and fertility monitors.

"Our product lines follow the natural progression from preconception to pregnancy to nursing. Our preconception products focus on fertility awareness and ovulation prediction, helping couples learn about their fertility and anticipate when they are most likely to conceive. Nutritional fertility supplements like FertilAid & FertileCM provide balance and support enhanced fertility for both women and men. Once couples receive the good news, products like Pregnancy Plus Prenatal and Pregnancy Plus Omega3 promote the prenatal health of a developing baby and help ensure pregnancy wellness for the mother - from the first days of pregnancy through the first years of nursing."

I got to try the Fertile-Focus personal ovulation microscope and Pregnancy Wheel and Ovulation Calendar. The microscope is so neat. All you do is take a drop of your saliva and allow it to dry on the microscope. If you see a crystal pattern it means you are ovulating. So simple! I also love the Pregnancy Wheel because it is helpful before you conceive as well as during your pregnancy.

To check out all of the helpful products that Fairhaven Health has to offer to help your pregnancy visit their site!

Shushybye Books and CD's Review and Giveaway

Lately the boys have REALLY been fighting going to sleep. After a million trips to the bathroom and drinks of water and screaming "I'm scared!" I am fed up! Not to mention that their room is upstairs and I hate going up and down them (heaven forbid I get a work out!). So I recently received two books from the Shushybe series and two music cd's and they have been a huge help.

What is Shushybye? "SHUSHYBYE is a preschool entertainment and lifestyle brand designed to inspire children to look forward to sleep time and help parents prepare their children for sleep in a fun and loving way that encourages imagination. Importantly, SHUSHYBYE is designed to help create healthful sleep habits for toddlers and preschoolers.
SHUSHYBYE is also innovative and imagninative entertainment - including an all-new television series entitled SHUSHYBYE BABY airing on national children's channel BabyFirstTV (http://www.babyfirsttv.com/) and Comcast Video On Demand (http://www.selectondemand.com/)."

Shushybye is also a magical land where dreams are made. But if you don't go to sleep you won't get your dreams from the dream box! I loved reading Shushybye Close Your Eyes, and Shushybye Sleepover Surprise to the boys. As I read to them I could tell they really understood that if they don't got to sleep then they won't get their dreams! What is also cool is that each book comes with a cd that reads the story and shares music.

The boys also keep asking me to play the Shushybye cd's from the Shushybye Dream Band. The music is really fun and relaxing. I am so thankful for the Shushybe series and am so happy I get to share it with you! One lucky winner will receive what I reviewed- two books- Close Your Eyes and Sleepover Surprise and 2 CDs -Close Your Eyes and Shushybye and . How awesome is that?

To enter please visit the site and tell me what else Shushybye has to offer (more than just books and music!) For additional entries please leave separate comment for each of the following:

Kissing and Cooking Book Review and Giveaway

I was so thankful when Kim Reutzel agreed to let me review her book Kissing and Cooking: A Recipe to Add Spice and Romance To Your Marriage. When I first started blogging I did it because I was lonely while Cody was gone with work. Fast forward to now and blogging has taken a good chuck of my time and almost all of my nights. Now that Cody hasn't been working we see each other all day and at night we have been doing separate things ( I think so we can have our own time so we don't drive each other crazy!)

We have been talking about how we want to be more productive with our time once the boys go to bed (not that blogging isn't productive :) ) so I was so excited to get this book. Kissing and Cooking is a book that offers advice and encouragement on strengthening your marriage and uses cooking to help. Kim has a B.A. in Christian counseling and I just love how she includes God as part of the process. I also can't wait to try the recipes! The first one Cody and I are going to try is Philly Steak Delight! Yummy!

Whether your marriage is really struggling or just needs a little lift, this book is so great at helping you stay away from divorce! Kim has graciously agreed to give one reader a copy of the book!

To enter please visit the site and tell me one thing about Kim. For additional entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:

Thinktivity Toys Review and Giveaway

It's no surprise that we have toys in our house. The boys love them and I really like when the toys are educational. That's why Thinktivity made a real impression on me. Thinktivity toys offer fun with a purpose. An example of this would be the cute Feed and Learn Singing Frog. With this toy you are given several animal cards and you put one in the frog's mouth and are asked questions and learn songs. The questions get the child to think about numbers, colors, and letters.

Jackson and Ki really like this toy. I like how it encourages them to participate and gets them thinking. Thinktivity toys can be found at Target and make a great birthday present!

The wonderful people at Thinktivity are giving a reader their own Feed and Learn Singing Frog! To enter please tell me who you would give this toy to. For additional entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:
