Power of Prayer

I just saw this video on the Crazyland blog. It is a thank you from Mr Nielson on behalf of him and his wife who were in a terrible plane wreck. This video is really touching and uplifting.

Avon Review and GIVEAWAY!! ENDED

Well, I have been out of blog world for a couple of days due to Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and a sick little boy. Excuses, excuses. What better way to come back then with free Avon!

I was sent 2 Botanicals Bamboo Reed Diffusers and 2 Jillian Dempsey for Avon Essential Beauty Palettes.

So here you go- First of all I LOVE the Botanicals Bamboo Reed Diffuser.

"Natural bamboo reeds absorb scented oil and diffuse fragrance while adding a harmonious dash of beauty to your surroundings. 10 bamboo reeds included. 2 fl. oz. scented oil included. Ceramic vase, 5 1/2" H x 3" W. Bamboo, 12" H."

I have a bad experience with one from the Pottery Barn before so I was a little nervous to try it. I'm so glad I did. The modern looking holder is perfect with my decor (because we all know my decor is just so stylish and modern with all of my garage sale finds! ). I love the scent that they sent (didn't even mean to do that). It wasn't overwhelming at all, just a nice pleasant aroma that makes my home smell pretty! Do I really have to give one away? I have other rooms that want to smell this pretty too!

The Jillian Dempsey for Avon Essential Beauty Palettes is awesome. Does the name sound familiar? That's right Grey's Anatomy fans. This is the yummy Patrick Dempsey's wife and now she has makeup.

"Magnetic-close compact with built-in mirror. 4" L x 3 1/4" W. Each gift-ready palette includes:2 lip colors (.10 oz. total net wt.)2 eyeshadows (.10 oz. total net wt.)1 blush (.10 oz. net wt.)dual-sided applicator".

I chose to use the warm set and of course loved it. I like that they took the guess work out of matching makeup for me. The colors are so pretty but not too dark. I like my makeup natural looking and this was natural. The lip colors were just the right amount of color and the eyeshadows were easy to put on with the applicator. I also have been wanting to try cream makeup and liked it a lot. Especially the blush. It was easy and I had it all on in about a minute.

The oustide of the palette is very appealing to so it looks cute in your makeup bag and is easy to take it with you on the go.

So do want to win? One person will win a diffuser and a palette in cool. This is pretty easy, just leave me a comment with your email address. Only one comment per person. I'm keeping it simple since this is my first time doing this. I will use to pick the winner. Giveaway ends on Dec. 6 th at midnight. I will post the winner on my blog and email the winner. And if you really want to, tell all your friends!

Even if you don't win the giveaway the folks at Avon are giving you free shipping by entering the code JINGLE30 at with a $30 order and shopping with an eRepresentative. Expires on Jan. 1st 2009.

Free Food!

I love and now they have made me want to marry them! If you want to do something nice for three people every day until Christmas for free- then pay attention. When you go to their site , you can give 3 people a day a $10 gift certificate every day until Christmas! How sweet is that? I just did it and plan to keep it up. If you live near me though, I won't be sending you one- sorry! They don't have any restaurants signed up by me.

My First Review and Something for My Readers

Yeah! This is my first review and I am so excited! What a great way to get my feet wet then with MobiStories. Have you heard of MobiStories? It's a website where you can download children's books onto your computer and then watch them whenever you want!

Tonight my boys were whining in their high pitched voices and giving me a headache. I said so excitedly, " Who wants to watch a story on the computer?" They were very eager and jumped in my lap. Then there was a beautiful moment that happened- they were quiet!!!!!! I put my books in my cart and followed the very easy instructions on how to download each book.

I loved the selection and how it was broken down by age group. Most importantly my boys loved it!

So, because I want to share the love (and so does MobiStories! ), here is a code 202A that will give you $10 worth of MobiStories for FREE! The coupon is good until Dec. 31st. The code can only be used once so make sure you use it all up!

If you go, come back and let me know what you think!

The Gift Closet

Another gift I won was a wonderful soy linen and body spray from Heather at The Gift Closet. The spray is made with soy so I don't feel like I'm putting chemicals on my skin. I picked the Victoria's Secret Heavenly scent and it smells exactly like the perfume! I also noticed that the smell lasts all day.
Heather is quite talented with scrabble pieces that she turns into unique jewelry or magnets. My favorite part is she has giveaways too! So what are you waiting for? Go check her out! If you want too......

Yorkies for Sale

My sister in law breeds yorkies and has some for sale so I thought would post about her pups for sale. She has two male yorkies that are about 15 weeks old. They are tiny and AKC registered. If interested you may contact Amber LaBelle. She is a sweetheart and would be able to answer any questions you may have. She also sells Arbonne (my favorite skin care line!) so you can buy Arbonne from her as well.

I Thought This Was Funny

Yes I have been spending too much time on the computer today!

New Background

Thanks to the lovely women at Leelou Blogs I am trying out another background. I really love how it seems more organized but there is only one problem. It's totally MY FAULT because I am not computer smart but I managed to lose my blog list! It happened before I even changed my blog background. So I am so sorry if you were on my list and now you are gone. If you were on my list and want me to add you back then send me an email. I can't remember them all! And if you weren't on my list but would like to be than email me too!

Also, I am going to be doing some reviews so as soon as they come in the mail I will let you know. I think I might even have a giveaway if I can figure out how to do one. So watch out- you never know when it might happen- I don't even know, but I am way excited!

Simple Finds

Now I am not one to flaunt things in peoples faces BUT I have been winning some giveaways lately. Each time I get a package in the mail from a giveaway I feel so grateful to the person who sent it to me that I want to at least post their info on my blog so that you can check them out too.

The first one I'll mention is one I won today on Simple Finds . I LOVE this blog! There are always cute reviews on items that I have never seen before that are way trendy. Here is what I won

I got to choose a tie for my son from Ties For Tots. How cute are these? Plus they are only $7.50! These are just some of the unique things you will find on Simple Finds.
Throughout the week I will be posting about my other wins so you can check out some other great blogs.

Have You Gotten the Flu Shot?

I have mixed feelings about the flu shot. Kind of like the election I am really on the fence about getting one. Not to mention giving one to my boys. Actually because of their age they each get two but it is spaced out. I did make the decision that the boys and I would not get the shot unless it was mercury free and this year since we are in the middle of no man's land, they don't have it here. I could go to another town if I really want too.

Have you heard of Dr. Mercola? He has these videos posted on his website. I watched them and it really started me thinking. I'm not preaching about vaccines here but I do think there are pros and cons to each side. I would love to know how you feel about the flu shot- maybe you can help me figure out what I'm going to do! The second video is longer but it has some great tips on what you can do to help prevent the flu.

Black Friday Link Fixed

Ok guys, sorry but it's fixed now.

Black Friday

There is one thing I look forward to every year and it's not Christmas. I LIVE for Black Friday (well, only when I have $ to spend), the day after Thanksgiving sales. I love the rush of it all, the bargains, the anticipation. It is way better than Christmas. I found this awesome site that gets the ads to many popular stores for Black Friday ahead of time! Can you believe it? My favorite one so far is the Kohl's ad that was just released. 56 pages of pure deals!!!!!!!!!!!!! I pined over the pages the way I used to when I was little girl with the Toys R Us catalog. So check it out!

Cheap and Cool Gift Idea

I came across this website where for $1 you can send someone an ecard and Mokugift will plant a tree in a third world country. How cool is that? Not only are you sending someone a card but you are helping the environment as well! The cards are cute too- one shows a little bunny planting a tree. So if you still need to do your good deed for the day, then go to Mokugift and let me know what you think!

Grocery Shopping with Toddlers

When we first moved to North Dakota, my husband was away for 4 months training to be a conductor for the railroad. When I had to grocery shopping with my 3 year old and two year old boys, it was an all day event. To save money ( but not gas ) we go to Walmart which is about 65 miles from here. By the time I got me and the boys ready and packed all their neccessaties, and then drove to Walmart, the morning would be gone.

The boys would sit in the shopping cart with the groceries because they don't have those cool car carts at my Walmart. Between trying to save money, indecisiveness, and the boys killing each other, it would take 2, yes, 2 hours to get my groceries ( I also shop for two weeks at a time so I don't need to come back again). My groceries would be crushed and opened from the boys and the cold items would melt. Then we would get lunch, go potty ( which takes FOREVER!!!!!) and make the trek back home.

By the time we got home it would be almost bed time- since I put my kids down early when they don't have a nap. I need something to look forward too! After unpacking the groceries I always would be missing something. The cashiers don't always check those round thingies that holds your bags so it's my loss. By the time the kids went to bed I was ready to cry!

Now that Cody is home it's much easier but still a few hiccups. We all go to Walmart but Cody drops me off and takes the boys to go get a smoothie. Then they come back and hang out while I finish up and then we go get lunch. This is soooooooo much easier, but yesterday a certain little shopper snuck some items in the cart. When we got home we found this

I didn't buy this and neither did Cody. After investigating we discovered our youngest, Jackson, had put them in the cart. Of all the things at Walmart to try to sneak into the cart, and he picks diced tomatoes and poultry seasoning! I'll just add it to my food storage. At least it wasn't expensive!
Sidenote- couldn't get this post to not underline. Sorry!
Do you have any shopping with kids stories? Please share!

Dryer Balls

I am in love! I just bought these Dryer Balls at Kmart because I am so sick of the static when I do laundry. They totally rock. You don't need to use dryer sheets or fabric softener. You just put these balls in the dryer with your clothes and you're set. They cost me only about $10 and they are supposed to last 2 years. These will save you money and time. They only thing that gets me is why did they have to make them blue? My dad and husband have already exhausted all the jokes they can- and trust me there are a lot! Have you tried these? Do you like them?

Twilight shirt

Ok, I just received my Twilight shirt that I ordered from Annie and I love it! I got the Team Edward and am so excited to wear it to the movie premiere. The shipping was really fast and that's saying a lot since I live in the middle of nowhere. Here is a weak pic of me wearing my shirt. I have a long sleeved undershirt on with it. Thank you Annie!

Also, I have family in town so I will not be posting that much.... but don't stop coming by the blog, it's only temporary!

How To Use A Flat Iron

In my Blessings Abound newsletter they featured Misikko a website for styling products like flat irons, and blow dryers. They have some videos ( see below ) on how to use a flat iron properly. The following videos are on how to curl your hair with a flat iron and the second is how to properly straighten your hair. They also have one on how to flip your hair on their website. I think I am going to be doing some practicing!

Do you have any styling tips?

Are You Voting?

I'm sure that most blogs you will be reading today will be focused on voting. So of course I have to join in! I have been so frustrated by all the information about the candidates and where they stand on issues. It is overwhelming by all the commercials, emails and rumors that I finally decided to just go to each candidates website and read where they stand. On each website I found things I agree with and things I don't. I made my decision and encourage you to do so as well. Please think for yourself and not what your neighbor has to say. Please focus on what is important to you before you make a decision.

It is scary how many lies are out there and how things can be twisted around to sound convincing. I can't stand the emails full of doom and gloom threatening that only a true Christian will vote for so and so. I am so happy that I have the free will to vote for who I want to. Yes there are a lot of awful things in this world but there are so many wonderful things too. I'm not scared of the Second Coming if Obama becomes President or if McCain is elected. We have so many reasons to be happy and enjoy this world and all the different people, religions, beliefs and talents that are out there. Today is a great day to be a voter!

I know this is a powerful topic and welcome any comments- just please be nice!

I feel really bad that it has taken me this long to do this tag but I have been putting it off. Been to busy and I did this once before and it was hard enough to make me sound interesting- but I will give another shot at it.

1) Just decided I'm going back to school to become a nurse.
2) I'm pregnant!
3) I'm addidcted to sugar- big surprise!
4) I love Colorado
5) I'm not pregnant but I made this interesting, right?!!!!!

I'm not going to tag anyone because I think most people have already done this one.

The Savior

I found this youtube video from The Errand Of Angels Blog and really wanted to share it. This is actually a photography book- don't know the author or the title- but I know I want it. If you know me and need to buy me a Christmas present, you can buy me this or food storage, easy right? Seriously though, this video can be watched by anyone who believes in Christ, not just of my faith. The song, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, plays in the background and is one of my favorites! The photographs are of real people and helps you realize that Christ was and is real. Enjoy!

An Experiment

My husband has a problem. A big one that could cause us a lot of marital stress (ok sometimes it does) but I have learned to ignore it. He rarely reads my blog so maybe he won't even know that I am posting this- Cody's fam- not a word! Well Cody is messy. He doesn't pick up after himself- ever!!!!!! I have tried so many things. Nagging, sweetly reminding him several times, throwing his stuff on his pillow on the bed. The Box was a great idea at first. I got a box and any time he left his stuff out I would throw it in the box. That way if he was wondering why he didn't have any clean socks, I would say "Did you check the box?" No arguments. But then I got sick of the box. Sick of seeing it overflow, not to mention that I was still picking up his stuff. So now it has turned into a pile in our living room. Most of his messes are in the living room so now his messes get put in a corner of the room. Well one day I decided to see how long it would last.

Here is Day 1

Day 3- my we have grown!

Day 5- Now the box has seemed to move to the center....

One Week- You can barely even see the box now!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my word! Has anyone ever heard of the woman who had just had like her fourth baby and was sick of trying to get her family to pick up after themselves? She asked them one last time and they didn't do it so she grabbed whatever was on the floor and posted it on Ebay! She made bank too. Her husbands Palm Pilot was on there. I don't think anyone wants my husbands stinky work clothes or empty soda bottles! One day I will figure out a solution! Honey, if your reading this- I love you! This is me getting back at you for all the times you have scared, startled or tricked me! Did it work?
