Snow Tub

Ok, I know I'm not alone when I say that I loathe taking the boys out to play in the snow. I have to first find all of their winter gear that is thrown all over the house since they love to play dress up. Then we have to get dressed which means I have to get dressed. Then we go out and it's just too darn cold! So today I thought I would just bring the snow to us. I filled a bucket over and over again with snow and put in the tub. I gave each boy a plastic spoon and they were so busy for so long- I made it through 1 and a half magazines! So worth it. I have also seen the idea where you fill squirt bottles with colored water and let the kids make designs in the snow. I can't wait to try that. I know that there are some mothers out there who can testify that going out in the snow everyday makes for a magical winter- but I just am not one of those gals.

So would anyone like to share their winter ideas for staying sane- inside or outside? As my son Ki would say, " Please, oh please, oh please?"

First Juice Review

I rarely by the boys juice. I know I'm an awful mom. We are just a water and milk type of family. It's just too hard to figure out the labels - from concentrate, the sugar content, etc. Then I saw First Juice and knew I had to have Ki and Jackson try it.

First off I love the actual bottle of First Juice. It is BPA free and can be reused. It's actually a really great sippy cup that looks like a sports drink bottle. It is also totally leak proof. That is huge to me! After the boys drank their juice up I just stuck them in the washer and filled them up the next day with water.

The boys pounded the juice. They loved it! The juice is made from 100% organic fruit and vegetable juices with 50% less sugar. Some of the flavors even are made with purple carrots! Yes they do exist! I was so pleased with the juice, I can't wait to find some in a store near me. If you would like to check out their site and learn more then click here.

Lego Review and Giveaway

I remember spending hours playing with my Legos. They are so fun! Well Lego has gotten even cooler over the years. Where have I been? My boys are starting to get to the age where they are really interested in all the parts.

We received the CITY Off-Road Vehicle & Jet Scooter and the City Quad and boy did we have fun! The boys would have just been content playing with the pieces alone but then they saw the pictures on the boxes and I knew we had to put them together. What a great bonding time! Ki and Jackson loved the little guys that came with the sets and had a blast when the kits were completed. I really like how the wheels actually let the vehicle and quad move (much different from when I was little) and the details in the parts. Ki and Jackson also loved to take the pieces apart and figure out how to put them back together. It kept them busy!

If you would like to win Legos like the set above ( plus the City Quad) then head over to the Lego site and let me know which item you would like to get and who you would give it to. Please include an email address if it isn't in your profile.

Promom Couture Review and Giveaway

I think it is so cool to show off being a mom. It is your right to brag about the important work you do! So when I find anything that screams "I'm a mom and I'm still sometimes cute!" I jump at the chance to get it. That's where Promom Couture helps me out. They have the most unique shirts for moms that scream stylish! No more frumpy t-shirts. I love the cut of the shirts and the unique boutique feel to them. Very feminine. Did you know there were on the Oprah show? Did you know Cindy Crawford says they are "some of here all time favorite things"?

One of the ones I got to try was the Grateful Mom shirt. So hip! They even have one for Dads too. If you would like to score a Grateful Mom tee or tank or a RocknRule Mom shirt or tank then please go to the Promom Couture site and let me know which you would like.

Purse Hook Review and Giveaway

I just have to say that I am very particular about my handbags (purses). When I find one I like I do everything possible to keep it looking nice. I NEVER put them on the ground for fear of dirt, stains, and germs. When my family goes out to eat at a restaurant we always get a booth to keep the boys corralled and that leaves me with no option of putting it next to me. The boys will either step on it or drop food. So I was so thrilled to find Purse Hooks! A purse hook goes with you in your purse ( or diaper bag, backpack etc.) and when you are ready to hang your purse it goes right on the table. Then you hang your bag. That's it! Don't you just love it?

There are so many unique styles and options. My favorite part is "Each PurseHook is made out of recycled metal and is fully backed with 100% recycled rubber, which helps secure every hook to any surface!"

Here are some great reasons to use a Purse Hook from their site :
" The Original Purse Hooks are of the highest quality and are put through a rigorous quality control program to make sure that you get the quality purse hanger you pay for.

Holds up to 35 pounds making it one of the most durable hooks on the market.

Keep pretty much anything off the floor or table top … diaper bags, shopping bags, umbrellas, men's hats, jackets, sunglasses, the list goes on and on.

There are millions of bacteria and other germs on the floor."

What I really like is all of the many styles to choose from- it's hard to decide!

If you would like to win a Purse Hook then leave me a comment telling me which style you would pick from their site. Please include your email if it not on your profile.

For extra entries please leave a separate comment for each of the following:
  • If you follow my blog
  • If you tweet about this giveaway and leave me the link
  • If you post about this on your blog and leave me the link

If you would like to order one now, go to their site and sign up for their newsletter. You will get a 15% discount!

Whimsical Creations

Aren't these just so cute? Or pretty, or yummy? Melanie from Whimsical Creations made these.
She has been working with clay for years and has her own etsy shop. You have to stop by her blog (and her shop) and look around!

Bumble Collection Review and Giveaway

I have always used those free diaper bags that the hospital gives you when you have a baby. Black plastic diaper bag that seems to stain when the bottle leaks. Yup that's what I had. But next time I have a baby (someday) I won't! I will be using my Busy Bee Backpack from The Bumble Collection! Finally, something that isn't a hand me down. Something pretty, trendy and functional. There are so many cute designs and types of diaper bags that they have that there has to be one for every person's tastes.
The one I received can be worn as a backpack or messenger style. It has quilted water and stain repellent material (yeah for me) and it is washable. No more spot cleaning with a baby wipe for me. Now here is what I LOVE about it. It is so functional. It comes with the following:
"Snack Bag Included
Removable Shoulder Strap, Pop Out Backpack Straps and Stroller Straps Included
Detachable Fold Out Changing Pad
Top Zipper Pocket for Easy Access to Personal Items
Optional 45 degree opening using featured Side Zippers
Multiple Zipper and Elastic Pockets for Added Storage Space"
Do you see in the picture above how you can change the diaper right there on the pad? Brilliant! Ok, I know it may seem silly to get so excited over a diaper bag, but when you are a mom it is your life saver! You want it to be pretty and CLEAN and help you!
I am so happy that The Bumble Collection has agreed to give one winner a Busy Bee Backpack! I know!!!! So you know the drill but in case you are a newbie to my site: Please go to The Bumble Collection site (their site is really pretty too) and leave me a comment letting me know which bag you think is the prettiest.
Then leave an additional comment for each of the following:
  • If you are a follower to my blog
  • If you tweet about this and leave me the link
  • If you post about this on your blog and leave me the link

Bowlicious Bowtique Giveaway and Save Handmade Items!

When Rachel from Bowlicious Bowtique contacted me about doing a giveaway I was so excited! She has the cutest homemade bows and hair accessories for girls! I really wish I had a little girl to buy all of them for! The thing that I was most impressed with is how affordable they are. Really, $3? How cool is that? You have to check out all the different kinds she has. Not just because she is giving one lucky winner $2o gift certificate to her shop and certainly not because she is offering FREE SHIPPING on all orders! Visit her to help Save Handmade!

If you haven't heard yet, a law has been passed to prohibit any handmade item be sold that hasn't been tested for lead. Businesses cannot afford to pay the high fees to do the testing. Now don't get me wrong, I am ALL for making sure products are safe for kids, there just has to be a way to do it without putting so many companies, big and small, out of business. What is that going to do to our economy?

So here's the deal. If you would like to be entered please go to Bowlicious Bowtique and leave ne a comment telling me what you would buy.

For extra entries- pay attention, this is different from my other giveaways- leave a separate comment for the following:

I'm Fabulous!

At least Suzy Q Homemaker seems to think so! I have been really wanting this. Just look at her! She looks like she just stepped off the Champs E'lysees( a ritzy mall) in France. One of these days when I'm a little more organized I will get all my awards together on my sidebar- as if I have so many!
By the way, do you notice anything different? I am so grateful for my new look from Blogger Boutique! She gave me a face lift and I love it! She designed the header for free thanks to my very generous pal Andreah over at Life's A Hoot- who by the way is having a Big Birthday Giveaway Bash!.
Ok now on to the rules of the award. My 5 addictions:
  1. Netflix. It is so awesome- does anyone say awesome any more? It has been my saving grace since I live in no man's land. The last movie I watched from them was The Women. Have you seen it? Please Don't ! It's a train wreck. I did love Meg Ryan's hair at the end though. Anyways, Netflix is the best. How do video stores stay in business now?
  2. My house. It's winter and I have hardly any stores around me. We drive to other towns for something to do but that is getting old. When we go I have been getting homesick lately. Not in an unhealthy way. I just miss it. I don't like getting out of my routine because when we have been gone for so long my house just falls apart!
  3. Workout pants. I know it's the biggest fashion faux pas but they are just so darn comfortable! Plus it's hard for me to find a pair that fits evenly with my high hips and little no butt. What a great visual! So when I find one that almost works and is on sale I snatch it up.
  4. Magazines! Oh they have everything- recipes, tips on how not to flip out on my kids, health news. I can't get enough of them. I did have a HUGE collection that I kept meaning to go through. They have followed me from so many moves and I finally just threw them all out. It was so freeing. But now I have a new collection starting next to my couch that I need to nip in the butt.
  5. Well here's a few in one because they don't really count since almost everyone has them too. Chocolate, Twilight books, and wedding cake!

Ok here is who I tag

Emma from Who is Emma? Michelle from the Froggy Bottom Blog, Lynn from Lynn's Kitchen, Liz from LizzyDear's Life and LaBelle's and Yorkies so you will start posting!

OH and be sure to check out Nienie's blog tomorrow. Stephanie is finally coming home after a long recovery from the accident.

Snacktrition Review and Giveaway

Everyone by now knows that nuts are good for you but do you know what's on your nut? I never thought about it before until I tried Snacktrition's nuts. I was able to sample out Snacktrition snacks and can really tell the difference between the stuff in the can and Snacktrition. The difference is that most other brands of nuts roast their nuts in oil. That can't be good , right?

But Snactrition nuts are "health- baked".

"What is health-baked you ask? It is simple; we sprinkle our almonds and cashews with the nutrients your body needs like fiber and calcium, oven-roast them and add kosher sea salt to taste. That’s it and the results speak for themselves."

My favorite was the Calcium and Fiber Fruit and Nut Mix. The boys sure liked them because of the white chocolate chips that were mixed in! We were all fighting over those! I am so glad I got to try these and won't be looking at the nuts I have been buying the same.

Snacktrition is generously giving one winner a 1 tub of each flavor! That's a lot of nuts! If you would like to enter please go to the site and leave me a comment telling me which product you would like to try.

Metromint Review and Giveaway

Do you know all the things mint can do for you? It can help your stomach- it "soothes the lining of the digestive tract". It, of course, helps your breath by killing the bacteria in your mouth. It also is a great use to relieve stress. That's why I really like the Metromint water I got to try. I requested a sampling from Metromint and they sent me all the flavors seen above.

Instead of a wine tasting party, my family had a Metromint water party. I really liked the CherryMint. Ki and Jackson's were ChocolateMint and Cody's was the LemonMint. What I liked was how my mouth felt so refreshed after each sip. You know that feeling when you first pop a piece of gum in your mouth? Well that's what it was like for me. I loved it! I also had no problem letting the boys drink as much as they want because I know there is no sugar, no artificial sweeteners like all the other flavored waters out there. No preservatives- just all natural mint.

If you would like to win a set of Metromint waters like the one above, along with a way cool Metromint reusable bag, then here's what you have to do. Just go to the site and leave me a comment on the name of another beverage they offer. That's it!

For extra entries please leave an additional comment for each of the following:
  • If you follow my blog
  • If you tweet about this and leave me the link
  • If you post about this on your blog and leave me the link

  • Giveaway ends on Jan. 21st 11:59 pm. Please leave me an email address so that I may contact you if you win.

Eleven Shoes Review and Giveaway

Eleven's shoes are the trendiest things my son Ki has ever worn before. He loves to strut around the house in his underwear and the "Kai" shoes they sent him. If you liked what you saw from the See Kai Run giveaway I held, then you'll love the Eleven Collection who are a sister company of See Kai Run. How could I not like a shoe that is the same name as my son ( just spelt differently) ? What I like most is that they are a family-run company.
Eleven's shoes are perfect for any kid age 3-8 and come in sizes 9 -3. I wish I had a girl because the girl shoes are so adorable! I wish that made them in my size. Eleven's shoes are flexible and cushioned with easy on/off Velcro. They have all leather uppers and most importantly are durable for the active kid! I know mine is!
If you would like a chance to win a pair of shoes from Eleven Collection, then go to their site and tell me which shoe you would choose.

Bloggers who have Blessed Me!

I going to take a minute to be a cheese ball. I have been given so much this week from fellow bloggers! I wanted to thank them all on my blog so that you can go check out their blog and see how awesome they are! First off Andreah at Life's A Hoot won a flashing header for her blog from BloggerBoutique and she gave it to me! (it will be up soon!) Can you believe it? Cody said she probably felt sorry for how basic my blog is- the stinker- but I know it's because she is a great heart and an adorable blog!

Then I won a beautiful print of the Savior from Trying to Stay Calm pictured above. She is so giving, she always makes my day! If you go to her blog you will see that she has a TON of followers but not because she does a bunch of giveaways. She's just a sweet person!

THEN my friend Lynn from Lynn's Kitchen sent me a package of lots of presents that she wrapped so pretty!(I stole Trying to Stay calm's pic for it) It included chocolate which totally made my day. This woman has been so kind to me and is always leaving cute comments just because.

THEN my friend Jamaise from Wishing Penny gave me a Blog Popz. Do you know what that is? Well I have read about it about 3 times and am still figuring it out but you can win prizes. It's on my sidebar. She is so thoughtful and is having her FIRST giveaway tomorrow! It hasn't been revealed yet and can't wait to see what it is! Make sure you check it out.

And then I received a Lemonade award from Christine at The Power of Housewife Word of Mouth. How cool is that? You have to check her out!
Now I know that there have been others who have really blessed me but I would have to write until midnight to share them all so I'll just stick with the most current ones. I really am thankful for everyone who reads my blog (or stalks!) and I hope I can start to be more giving too!

Bananas Foster French Toast

Cody and I have been soooooooooo bored since winter has hit and Cody was laid off from the Railroad. The Railroad does it every year for a couple of months but Cody found a job with a bank. He won't start for maybe another two weeks. Some days we drive each other nuts, but we have discovered something to give us hope. I was looking on Food Network website and found all these yummy recipes. We decided to each pick out a recipe we would want to eat and then make them for each other. I picked a macaroni and cheese dish that I won't even give the link to because it just wasn't that good. BUT I made the Bananas Foster French Toast ( the pic is of a similar recipe) and it was to die for! If you love sugar you will love this! It is so fattening and unhealthy and soo good! The recipe calls for Rum but we didn't use it. Just lots of pure buttery love! Promise me you will make this!? Please!

Cody had to help me in the end and it was fun to go to the store to buy our ingredients and then work on something for each other. I really would like to do this once a month. The missionaries came by and we told them about it so now next Saturday we are having them over to show them how to make it!

If you have a significant other (sorry, I don't mean to single out the single sistas), what do you like to do to bond with each other? I really would like to know!

Stop the Presses!

One of my sweet blogging friends, Leah, asked me if she could subscribe to my blog. I don't know why but I have been nervous about that because I just don't really know how to use it. But because I can't say no to a friend I added it to my sidebar. Leah is now my first subscriber! Now what? I guess I will see. If you would like to subscribe go for it!

Layers Review and Giveaway

Layers Clothing is one of my new favorites! They have modest clothing that is so stylish and chic. Layers Clothing proves that just because you dress modestly doesn't mean that you have to look frumpy and boring. I know for a fact because Layers sent me the Glenda top and the Margo dress ( as seen above). I couldn't believe how cute they both looked on me (that sounds pretty stuck up, huh?)! Since I spend most of my days indoors in sweats ( yes I admit it! ) these pieces were a breath of fresh air. What I love most is how soft the material is. You can tell that Layers clothing uses quality fabric and the best part is that their clothing is very affordable! I think that any girl will love Layers Clothing to help them feel oh so pretty!
So if you want to treat yourself to something pretty too, then you can enter to win a $50 certificate to Layers Clothing!!!!! I know, cool right?! To enter just visit Layers Clothing and tell me what you would buy if you won.

For extra entries leave a separate comment for each of the following:

  • If you blog about this and leave me the link to the post

Yummy Mummy Review and Giveaway

I have to start off by saying I love ( I know I use that word a lot but I can't find a better one) Yummy Mummy! What is it? It is a unique workout and support system for moms (and all women) who want to get their body back in shape after having a baby, or in my case just in shape!

The gorgeous Holly, created the Yummy Mummy workout plan to help moms stay motivated to workout and helps you stay in shape. Instead of making time to go to a gym or sign up for a bunch of classes she has a unique way to do it from your home. That is a huge thing for me since I don't live anywhere near a gym and it's way too cold to go outside.

Here is what Holly says on her site: "As a young Mom, I stumbled across exercise techniques that were shockingly fast and effective, and I later learned America’s top trainers were using these “secret” techniques to help women burn belly fat in short, fun sessions. I was thrilled to find out my system was recommended by top professionals – so I became a trainer myself! It’s been an amazing and empowering journey, and I’m excited to share my secrets with you.
But first, you know the old saying, “Into every life, a little rain must fall”? Well, like many women, I’ve had a lifelong struggle with weight – making a couple of good choices, and more often some bad ones along the way. In fact, it took me over 10 complicated years to discover what I want to share with you today, THE solution to the troubles and problems I am determined to help you avoid, so you can stop being frustrated and get your body back in only a matter of weeks."

What I do I love about the Yummy Mummy workout plan? I love the online support I have received. I get motivating emails right from Holly herself! I also like that I was able to download everything right onto my computer. Even the workouts! I have wanted to start working out for awhile now and this has really made me step away from the computer and do it!

So to ring in the new year right, Holly is giving away one lucky winner an ebook, free month of dvd's, AND the Fit Club Coaching Program! Holy Cow! To enter please go to the site and tell me one thing that you think it could help you with.

Wake Up on Time Review and Giveaway

My husband was the guinea pig for this product and boy was he happy. He got to try a dietary supplement called Wake Up On Time. It's a new, all natural supplement created by a mom ( I love that) who had a hard time waking up in the morning. This helps you wake up without an alarm! It's non- habit forming and uses only the finest ingredients.

Here is a description from the site: " Wake UP On Time is designed to be taken before going to bed. The 100% natural and scientifically proven ingredients are coated in a delayed-release tablet. This special coating allows the ingredients to disperse throughout the body only at the end of the average persons sleep cycle so they wake up feeling refreshed, alert and full of energy. Unlike other supplements, you do not need to take Wake Up On Time for weeks or months before benefiting from results. Every bottle is guaranteed to produce results with your very first dose. "

Normally my hubby won't take pills, (I can barely get him to take a vitamin) but he has really been struggling to stay awake though out the day since he gave up Coca Cola a week ago. He noticed a difference right away. He took one dose before bed and didn't have any problems sleeping through the night. The next day when the boys came in to wake us up I got to sleep in while Cody got up with them! Wow, this benefits me too! He has noticed energy throughout the day but doesn't seem wired or anything.

The people at Wake Up On Time are generously giving away one bottle of the sweet stuff! To enter visit the site and leave me a comment on one interesting thing about the product.

MoxieBee Review and Giveaway

I feel pretty, oh so pretty! I love being a girly girl but it only happens for me about once a week for church. But I have been saved! Moxie Bee sent me this tres chic black pencil skirt. Cody seemed to like it a little too much if you ask me, but this skirt is hot! I really like the unique styles of Moxie Bee clothing and the price! They even have jewelry that is very affordable.
Here is what they say on their site " The business is built with young professional women in mind. No more digging through the racks at teen focused stores to find something age acceptable!
