New Years Resolutions

Ok everyone is doing it- sharing their resolutions. Well here are mine off the top of my head. I might add some more later!

  • Be nicer to my hubby. He hasn't been working as much lately because the trains are slow this time of the year and we have been driving each other nuts! On Modern Molly Mormon this morning I read about how Musing Molly tried to do something special for her hubby everyday for a week (little things). I used to do this sporadically but I think I need to pick it up a notch.

  • Be nicer to my boys. The same idea as the first. I need to show them I am more than just a house cleaner and a grilled cheese maker! It's the simple things they like from me- dancing to Miley Cyrus' "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and playing play dough.

  • Actually read my Fly Lady emails that I get every morning to stay on top of the housework.

  • Make scripture reading a priority. Why is it that I read when I am going through really hard trials but then blog and surf the internet when everything is calmer?

  • Stay on top of deleting my emails. I just finished decluttering my inbox (there were ALOT from A LONG time ago) and it was so freeing! I felt so productive.

  • Be more giving of myself. I am an only child. I wasn't spoiled but I don't always think of others as often as I should. I sigh when my husband asks me to do something for himor get cranky when I have to clean pee off the bathroom floor from one of my boys. I need to get over myself and just do it! Why is it that I would go out of my way to help a complete stranger but have issues with it in my own home?

  • Speaking of which, I need to listen to my boys more too. As I am trying to type all the ways I'm going to be a better person, I am trying so patiently to listen to Ki tell me about his Spiderman suit.

  • Wow this list is getting long... I should stop now. Baby Steps!

So, in the spirit of New Years, will you share your Resolutions? It always makes me feel better when I see that other people have things to work on too! I know that's twisted but you know you do too! AND, if you could give me some ideas on how to achieve my resolutions (especially the first two) I would LOVE it! ♥♥♥♥

See Kai Run Review and Giveaway

Guess what? My son is a Mac Daddy! No not for real, but his feet sure look like it. He is sporting these days the shoes above from See Kai Run. Aren't they cute? I was so thrilled when they sent me some and Jackson was even more excited. He walked around so proud with his Boden's on. I love how stylish See Kai Run shoes are and the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. Here is what their site says:
"Healthy Fit
Very flexible soles are healthy for developing feet.
Wide opening and toe box accommodate even the chubbiest little feet.
Velcro closure allows for adjustable fit and easy on and off.
Leather lining is breathable and durable.
Padded collar adds comfort and helps our shoes stay on little feet.
Quality Construction
Leather used for our footwear meets the most stringent available U.S. and international guidelines.
Sheepskin leather uppers are butter-soft and more durable by weight than cow leather used by many other brands.
Durable construction and rubber sole stand up to heavy play indoors and out.

What I really like about See Kai Run is that they give back! They recently donated over 8000 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls and the World Association for Children and Parents. They also give $5 to Unicef for every See Kai Run shirt sold. PLUS they are giving back to YOU right now by offering FREE shipping on orders placed by Jan. 15th! I'm thinkin' I wish they made shoes in my size!

If you would like to win a pair of See Kai Run shoes than go over to their website and leave me a comment letting me know what pair you would pick.

It's A Christmas Miracle!

The other day my boys were whining for a snack as usual and I told them no because it was almost time for lunch. My oldest, Ki, got mad and said "Don't put vegetables in my lunch!" Well I explained to him that just like Daddy has a job, so does Mommy, and that is to put vegetables in our food. If I don't I might get in trouble. He just looked at me and I wondered what he was thinking.

I found a recipe for roasted vegetables on Blogger Buffet (the link is on my sidebar) and I made it served over brown rice. I only make brown rice when Cody is away or else I hear too much complaining. To my surprise the boys both ate their vegetables!!!!!!!!! Their new favorites are the white trees (cauliflower) and broccoli. They even asked for seconds! I'm not sure if it will ever happen again, but for a moment I felt like I had done my job as a mother and felt oh so happy.

Below is a letter to Santa that was on the Crazyland blog. It spoke to me as I'm sure it does to so many of us. I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Dear Santa,
I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my four children on demand, visited their doctor's office more than my doctor, sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground and figured out how to attach nine patches onto my son's boy scout uniform with staples and a glue gun. (really. I did!)
I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years. Here are my Christmas wishes:I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze; but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store. I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month two pregnancies ago.
If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone. On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, "Yes, Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with three kids who don't fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting "Don't eat in the living room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog. If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.
If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family. Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in and dry off so you don't catch cold. Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.
Yours Always,Motherboard P.S. One more can cancel ALL my requests if you can keep my children young enough to believe in Santa.

Neat Solutions Table Topper Review and Giveaway

I hate germs. I always have and now that I have kids, germs REALLY bug me. I know that they are for our good, building your immune system, blah, blah, blah. The truth is when I don't worry about germs my boys get sick. When they get sick I get sick. So I was so happy when I found out about NeatSolutions. They have cute products that help with germs. Items include-Table Toppers, Shopping Cart Handle Covers and Disposable Potty Seat Covers.

I was sent the Table Topper to try out in Baby Einsteins. Here is what NeatSolutions site says :

"A Little Sheet of Neat
Protects Children from Germs on Restaurant Table Tops
A sanitary eating surface that sticks securely in place, (Think of it as a clean table...that fits in your diaper bag.)
On-the-Go protection from germs, dirt & cleaning chemicals on restaurant and food court tables. (It is kind of like a disposable security blanket.)
Fun and engaging designs that keep your child occupied. (So you can enjoy your meal, too!)
BPA-Free, PVC-Free, phthalate-Free "

My boys loved using this! We went out to our favorite pizza joint and we put our Table Toppers to the test. I just took the strips off the adhesive and placed them on the table and were ready to go! The boys liked the Baby Einstein pictures and I liked eating germ free! Not to mention that they were distracted by the pictures and rhymes while our food was being prepared. I will definitely be using these again. I also can't wait to try the Toppers for the toilets.

I have one package of Table Toppers to give away. Please leave me a comment telling me one of the NeatSolutions items you would like to try. Giveaway ends Dec.29th 11:59 pm. For extra entries leave a separate comment for each of the following:

  • If you follow my blog

  • If you tweet this contest and leave me the link

  • If you blog about this contest and leave me the link.
If you would like a chance to win a sample pack from Neat Solutions, fill out a Caregiver form here!

Have a germ free holiday!

SmartShopper Review and Giveaway ENDED

The SmartShopper is one of those things you don't realize you need until you have one and then you know you can't live without it! The SmartShopper website says:

"SmartShopper is an easy-to-use electronic device that helps you make your grocery list. Adding an item to your list is easy. Simply press record and speak the name of the item or items you wish to add. Press Print, and SmartShopper prints your list categorized by grocery departments such as "frozen foods" or "produce"."

I have been using mine for a couple days now. I no longer have to track down a pen every time I need to add an item to my grocery list. When my shopping list was done I printed it out and all of my items were divided into proper categories ( dairy, household, etc.) The part I love the most is that it is legible! My hand writing is awful and I hate having to decipher it at the store. Now I don't have to! If you would like to win a SmartShopper than leave me a comment.
For extra entries leave a separate comment for the following:
  • if you follow my blog
  • if you tweet this giveaway and leave me the link
  • if you post about this giveaway on your blog and leave me the link
  • if you make a purchase on SmartShopper

If you plan on buying one now you can get the SmartShopper for $79.99 and use the promotion code WF20936 until Dec. 31st for an additional $5 off. If you order it between now and Dec. 31st you get free standard shipping!

Giveaway ends Dec. 27th 11:59 pm.

The Paper Bag Christmas

Thanks to Hachette Book Group I was given the wonderful opportunity to reveiw Paper Bag Christmas by Kevin Alan Milne. Just in time to get me in the Christmas spirit and help me remember the true meaning of Christmas! The story is about two brothers whose parents sign them up to volunteer at a hospital where they befriend ill children. One of whom is a girl is so embarrassed by her deformaties that she wears a paper bag over her head. The story is so touching as they discover that Christmas is of course, more than presents and that it is never too late to believe in miracles- even if you don't believe in Santa. I was so touched by this book. It made me want to hug my boys and go take over some goodies to my neighbor. It helped remind me that we are all human and no matter what religion you are, what you look like, and how old you are, you can make a big difference in other lives and make lasting friendships.
If you are looking for a great last minute gift idea this would be perfect! I saw it at Walmart the other day ( I know- Walmart should start paying me for how often I mention them!).
Have you read this book or any other Christmas book lately? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Edun Review and Giveaway Ended

Edun is the newest addition to my list of favorites things in the world. I love clothes. I love organic clothes. I love clothes with a purpose! Edun gives me all three. Here is a desription from their site " edun LIVE’s aim is to help foster trade and increase long-term sustainable employment in Africa via high-volume sales of blank t-shirts to the wholesale market. edun LIVE manufactures 100% African t-shirts, from "grow to sew" and has a presence in the sub-Saharan nations of Lesotho, Uganda, Mauritius, South Africa and Tanzania."

Started by Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson, Edun works with people in Africa using organic African cotton to make clothes for men, women, and kids. Celebrities everywhere are sporting Edun clothing ( click here to see who) and I was lucky enough to receive a shirt from them! Well, actually my son, Jackson was. He received the Arch Angel Tee and was so excited when he saw the shirt. I was really impressed with how soft it is and how well made it is. When Jackson likes something he wants it with him all day. That was the case with this shirt. He wore it all day and when he spilled his milk on it at dinner he wanted me to wash it right away so he could wear it again! He hasn't done that with a shirt before! I also liked the cut of the shirt- it fit closer to his body than some of the ones I buy at Walmart.

Right now Edun is offering a $25 gift certificate to anyone who purchases a $2o or up gift certificate! They also have an outlet section where you can save at least 50%! And also free standard shipping on any order of$100 or more. Talk about saving $!

If you would like to win Arch Angel shirt than head over to Edun and leave me a comment of an item you want. Please include your email address.

For extra entries leave a seperate comment for each of the following

  • if you tweet this giveaway and leave me the link
  • if you blog about it and leave me the link

Garden of Eve Review and Giveaway Ended

I love natural products- absolutely love them. Now I love Garden of Eve! I was sent this wonderful kit to try out and I am so smitten! Garden of Eve is a natural and organic skin care line that uses pure ingredients to treat your skin.
Here is a description from their site: "Why Garden of Eve: Garden of Eve products feed the skin what is needed to balance and nourish on a cellular level, without any buildup to clog the pores or prevent the skin from breathing. Made without harmful synthetic ingredients, the natural organic and wild crafted botanicals in Garden of Eve toners and moisturizer crèmes are completely absorbed and become part of your skin’s health. The essential oils chosen for our formulations are known for their anti aging properties and can be used on ultra sensitive skin without worries."

I worry about what I put on my skin and when our budget is tight I go to Walmart and buy the latest product that is packaged pretty hoping that it will do me some good. Sometimes they work but there is always something I don't like-powerful fragrances or it's missing something, since it isn't customized to my type of skin. What I love about Garden of Eve's products is that I know what I put on my skin is safe and won't give me a headache from all the perfumes. My skin felt soothed as I used the products. I especially love the Facial Cleanse or Mask. It cleared out my pores really well and left my skin squeaky clean! I really recommend these products if you are searching for something to treat your skin the way nature intended. They even have a men's line (Adam!).

Eve, the woman behind Garden of Eve, and herbal specialist, even does custom blending using the purest ingredients to match your skin care needs. Nothing artificial!

If you would like to win a Face Care Sampler Kit please visit Garden of Eve and then leave a comment telling me a product you would like to try. Please include your email address in your comment.

Jack and Lily Shoes Review and Giveaway ENDED

OH MY LAND! (everyone says that here in North Dakota) How cute are these? I couldn't believe it when these came in the mail. These are from Jack and Lily and are so adorable. They have the cutest selection of shoes for babies and toddlers and are made oh so well. When I showed them to my son Jackson he was really excited and instantly wanted them on. He has had them on all afternoon!

What makes these shoes so special? Here is a description from their site:

Features:• A true soft-sole shoe that can be used Indoor and Outdoor• Non-toxic, breathable, premium 100% cowhide leather• Soft, flexible and skid resistant TPR sole• Genuine suede lining• 3mm cushioned soles and cushioned ankle protection• Ultra-light and flexible providing ultimate comfort• Velcro makes it easy to put on and stay securely in place• Perfect for pre and new walkers• Recommended by Podiatrists

I feel really safe with them being non- toxic because there are so many chemicals that already enter my home! They seem to really fit Jackson, his foot is closer to the ground then with his Payless shoes ( I think that keeps him balanced) and his ankle is still supported. I also really appreciate the velcro. Jackson was able to put on his shoes without me ( they were on the wrong feet of course). What really sold me is that they are recommended by Podiatrists. I wish that I had these when my boys were first learning to walk. I think they really could have benefited from the support. I always wanted to buy Striderite for my boys but couldn't cough up the moola but with Jack and Lily shoes running $30 that seems very reasonable with the quality of shoe you are getting. And with Jack and Lily giving one lucky winner a pair of his or her choice for free- it can't be beat!

If you would like to win a pair then visit Jack and Lily and come back and tell me which one you would pick and who you would give it to.

Congrats to Annalisa!

Chritmas Tree

We decorated the tree awhile ago but I finally got these posted! This was the first year that the boys decorated the tree with us. It was interesting! A few broken ornaments later and here you have it. I learned some things- first I just need to let the boys do it their way and when they aren't looking fix it. Second- don't buy glitter ball ornaments, the glitter gets on everything! Third, I learned that I'm too controlling (well I already knew that) so if I want my kids to have happy tree memories, I need to let them do their thing. Let's see if I remember that next year!

Do you have your tree pics on your blog? Leave me a comment with the post so I can see!

I am really excited to share with you this amazing online store called For My Kids. It is very unique because the products are all natural and hand made. It is run and owned by a mom who didn't want to expose her children to all of the toxic chemicals in the everyday products we use. So what did she do? She made her own! I wish I could do that.

Don't let the name fool you- you don't have to be a mom to use these products! The My Mommy's Face Care cleanses and moisturizes all at once. This product is so unique. Are you ready for this? You don't use water! You simply massage it into your skin and wipe off with a dry cloth. It takes off dirt, makeup, you name it! Afterwards it leaves your skin oh so very soft!

"My Mommy's Face Care is a super-soothing formula containing organic coconut oil, organic sweet almond oil, candelilla wax, organic calendula, organic chamomile, organic tamanu oil, and 100% pure organic lavender essential oil. "

LTD Chix Shirt Giveaway ENDED

I am living the dream baby! Oh the power of suggestion. I am always searching for "mom" items that I can buy to proudly display that I am part of the "mom club". You know like necklaces that say mom on them or shirts with funny sayings. Well I have finally found an item that speaks to my heart. The talented women at (Living the Dream) have created a line of shirts with the perfect scenes of the chaos and humor of motherhood. There are so many illustrations that there is bound to be one to match any mom out there. With titles like Cleaning Mom, Cooking Mom, Minivan Mom, Referee Mom, there are so many ways to express what type of mom you are while getting a laugh too! I received Laundry Mom (perfect description of me) in Sherbert/White and proudly wore it around town with my boys in tow. I like all of the colors and styles you can choose from. My favorite is the long sleeve since it is so cold right now! I really like the fact that I can make light out of something that I do everyday and that is the most important part of my life right now. Now I don't need to get that Perfect Mom tattoo I was thinking of getting.... :)

Would you like to win one? I know I have been giveaway happy lately, and there is more to come! So if you want to win a shirt please visit LTDchix and come back leaving a comment on which mom you are. Sounds easy but it's hard to pick just one! Even if you aren't a mom think of what a great Christmas present this would make! One lucky winner will be drawn on Dec. 17th 11:59 pm.

Isabelt Review and Giveaway ENDED

I was so excited when I wore my isABelt for the first time today! Pretty much the only bottoms I wear outside are jeans. I love my jeans but I hate having to constantly pull them up. Over and over again. I don't have a butt- at all so I have a hard time finding pants that stay up. When I put on the isABelt I was a bit skeptical. Could this really help me out? YES! It worked. I have officially gone the whole day without pulling up my pants! I have gone to do it but only out of habit from always hiking them up.
I love that I can wear this instead of a big belt that always sticks out of my shirt leaving a big bulge. My shirts are all long and they always go over the belt. With isABelt there was no problem. It is clear and stays hidden leaving my behind a little more lifted than usual! What I really like is they have cute designs too. They also have a HisABelt which I am thinking about getting my hubby to try out :). My most favorite part though, is that whenever I get pregnant again I can use this to extend the life of my pants before I have to start wearing maternity pants. No more rubberbands around the button! Now I just need to get pregnant....
Here is a great video also, that shows exactly how it works. So simple.

Would you like to win this? Of course you do! All you have to do is head on over to isABelt and tell me what you like about the products. For an extra entry you can follow my blog and leave a seperate comment. If you are already a follower leave a comment too! Giveaway ends Dec. 14th 11:59 pm. Good luck!

My hip- T Review and Giveaway ENDED

Oh how I love dressing modestly and now it has gotten so easy! I am always wearing long undershirts to make up for all my shrinking tops, and I wear them to cover up my muffin top. I don't care what size you are- once you have kids you have a muffin top! It makes sense to wear an undershirt but I am so sick of the bulge and the many lines that occur from so many layers.

How happy am I that the super smart women , Christine and Kelley at Hip-T sent me one of their hip-T's? WAY! It is like a whole new world. What is a Hip-T?
"noun: stretch fabric hip wrap worn over your jeans, and under your shirt: create sassy layers without the t-shirt tangle and prevent rear view sneak peeks. "

Here is what I like: The quality of the material. It's so soft and stretchy. No bumps or bulges! The style. They have plenty of colors to choose from ( I chose aqua ) and they even have the option of lace. I love how easy it is to slip on and off and it also stays in place. That is one thing I am always doing with my undershirts- pulling down, fixing, checking. Not with the Hip-T!

So have I convinced you yet that this is a must need for any woman who cares about her "assets"? Good! Now one lucky winner can choose a Hip-T of their choice! All you have to do is visit the Hip-T site and then come back and tell me which color or style you would pick. Make sure you include your email address so that I can notify you if you win.

I found a new website that sells the cutest items for posh kids. YourCoutureKid is a mom owned website that sells handmade, chic items for your little ones. They have everything from the most adoradble hair accessories to clothes to furniture make any child's room tres chic!

How adorable is this? I wish they had this when I was a little girl! The Tu Tu Cute Couture Footstool comes in a variety of colors and styles and even has a cowboy look for the boys out there.
This is my favorite carrier cover! Why didn't I have this with my boys? WHY? These are called Sprout Shells and have the most stylish designs.

If you like what you see then support a working mom and check out her site and etsy shop.
