Lately I have been so overwhelmed with emails. Every time I receive a comment I also receive an email and with all the entries for giveaways it really leaves my inbox full! Well while I was doing something on my blog I came across this lovely comment

"Dear Ashley,

I read with great interest your blog about Soy Spacasso.
Do you have someone that proofreads your script or is it just supposed to be "as is"?
There were grammer, spelling and punctuation mistakes that reflect on your education. I am sure you are very intelligent, but your education was evidently lacking.
If you are interested in someone proofreading your work before it hits publication, let me know."

It is really funny to me on a number of levels. Here are some points I would like to make to
  • First of all you left your email so you must not care if anyone sees this comment and responds to it (if one of my lovely readers really wants too:).
  • All of the "mistakes" were pulled word for word from the actual owners site- I didn't want to alter something that I am directly quoting.
  • I received a great education and graduated from high school as Valedictorian.
  • Big surprise- I'm not the Savior so I think that means that I'm not perfect....
  • Lastly- you spelled grammar wrong! Shame on you!
It is probably not in the best taste to post this. I tried to simply delete the comment but as luck would have it - it didn't work! I could be the bigger person and just keep my mouth shut but I have done that a lot in my life and simply choose not too right now. This is my blog where everyone including myself should feel safe. So Happy Blogging!

  1. My oh my this "marna" is quite the rude person.

Sounds to me like she wasn't taught manners :)

Ashley, you are by far the most intelligent one ...

  2. You go, girl! People are so rude. If she doesn't like it, she doesn't have to come back. Why make an "a**" out of herself?

Apparently someone is only highly schooled in her own mind. Manners are more important than grammar.

  3. Marna, you are a moron with nothing better to do than to proofread other people's posts and then actually take it a step further and email them regarding their mistakes. You are a very sad and very small person. I wish you luck with being such a miserable person. I'm sure your friends are thrilled to have you around. If someone were to follow you around and correct every mistake that you made, I assume that you wouldn't like it either.

Sorry, but people like Marna really bother me! And then she has the nerve to ask you to HIRE her so that she can berate you some more!

I, for one, enjoy your writing very much :)

  4. Good for you! You are right, it's your blog and you can do whatever you want and should be able to feel safe! :-)

  5. That was hilarious! How pitiful is that?! And, for the record, you sound very intelligent to me! :)

  6. Somehow I came across your blog for the first time tonight. Thanks for the laughs. I don't know you at all but we could totally be friends!

  7. Great response, Ashley. :) People like that really bother me and I'm glad you stood your ground. :)

  8. Oh sheesh! Doesn't it just make you want to smack someone some times? I cant stand people who knit pick like that! (For me it is people who look at the stuff I sew stitch by stitch...) Doesn't she know that you are just a woman trying to do what she can and that your shouldn't have to be perfect? Who wants to read the blog of someone who is perfect?!?!

  9. Way to go! I must compliment you though on your politeness to this person! I don't think I could have been so kind in my response back.

  10. Oh. My. Gosh.

Rude people are everywhere. I can't believe she would try to insult your intelligence! Obviously she hasn't ACTUALLY read your blog or she would know otherwise.

I think you are a smart, fun, creative person and it's evident that hundreds of people LOVE your blog. Don't let her disparaging comment get you down.

P.S. I will be dropping her a line as well. :)

  11. It's hard to believe that someone would leave a comment like that - it's amazing how rude some people can be. It really irritates me when people insult others under the guise of being helpful - I mean really, if you're going to say something mean to someone then at least have the guts to admit that you are in fact being mean instead of hiding behind the idea of "helping" someone.

  12. I think everything I'm thinking has already been stated by the others... =)
Now, where's Marna's blog link so I can go "proofread" her posts?

  13. Oh mannnnnnnnnnnn, that is hilarious!!!!!!!!! Love that she gots a gooder edjumacation that you cuz she spelt perfect!! :)

Thanks for your comment- keep 'em coming!
