Tide Loads of Hope

For those of you who don't know, I live in North Dakota. I'm not near Fargo so we didn't get hit with the flooding. Although, Cody did get laid off because of the flooding! I thought I would spread the word though to anyone else who might be near Fargo of a great thing that Tide is doing.

Tide’s Loads of Hope Mobile Laundry Program Heads to Fargo
to Provide Free Laundry Services
Program Supports Local Residents and Relief Workers in the Aftermath of Recent Flooding

WHO: The service is available to all families and relief workers affected by recent flooding that are in need of clean clothes.

WHAT: Beginning Monday, April 27th, the Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry program, in partnership with SUPERVALU, will be in Fargo, North Dakota with its “Loads of Hope” team to deliver clean clothes to those affected by the recent flooding in North Dakota and Minnesota. The Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry program will be providing free laundry services to both relief workers and residents of North Dakota and Minnesota who are in need of resources and support following the damage caused by the recent area flooding. These residents and workers are encouraged to drop off their laundry to be washed, dried and folded, free of charge.

The Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry program was created in 2005 to provide much needed free laundry services to families affected by Hurricane Katrina. Inspired by the resilience and spirit of the people of New Orleans, Tide was driven to expand the Loads of Hope program and has since helped families affected by the devastating wildfires of 2007 in Southern California, the 2008 floods in Iowa and most recently Hurricane Ike in Galveston, TX. Today, the program includes the Loads of Hope, truck outfitted with 32 energy-efficient Frigidaire® Affinity™ washers and dryers, and a fleet of vans that allow the Tide team to help more families than ever before. Collectively, Tide has washed nearly 30,000 loads of laundry for more than 20,000 families impacted by disasters since the program launched.

WHY: Tide has learned that the little things - like washing clothes - can make a big difference to those who have lost the comforts of home. The recent flooding has devastated many parts of North Dakota and has forced thousands of residents from their homes, leaving them without basic needs and resources. The Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry program is prepared to help relief workers and families whose clothing and personal items have been impacted and to help renew a sense of hope to individuals in need.

People across the country can help support the Tide Loads of Hope program by purchasing a yellow-capped bottle of Tide at their local store or a Tide Loads of Hope vintage tee by visiting http://www.tideloadsofhope.com/ or by calling 1-866-772-1034. A portion of proceeds from the bottle and all of the profits from the tees go towards helping families affected by natural disasters.
