Snow Tub

Ok, I know I'm not alone when I say that I loathe taking the boys out to play in the snow. I have to first find all of their winter gear that is thrown all over the house since they love to play dress up. Then we have to get dressed which means I have to get dressed. Then we go out and it's just too darn cold! So today I thought I would just bring the snow to us. I filled a bucket over and over again with snow and put in the tub. I gave each boy a plastic spoon and they were so busy for so long- I made it through 1 and a half magazines! So worth it. I have also seen the idea where you fill squirt bottles with colored water and let the kids make designs in the snow. I can't wait to try that. I know that there are some mothers out there who can testify that going out in the snow everyday makes for a magical winter- but I just am not one of those gals.

So would anyone like to share their winter ideas for staying sane- inside or outside? As my son Ki would say, " Please, oh please, oh please?"

First Juice Review

I rarely by the boys juice. I know I'm an awful mom. We are just a water and milk type of family. It's just too hard to figure out the labels - from concentrate, the sugar content, etc. Then I saw First Juice and knew I had to have Ki and Jackson try it.

First off I love the actual bottle of First Juice. It is BPA free and can be reused. It's actually a really great sippy cup that looks like a sports drink bottle. It is also totally leak proof. That is huge to me! After the boys drank their juice up I just stuck them in the washer and filled them up the next day with water.

The boys pounded the juice. They loved it! The juice is made from 100% organic fruit and vegetable juices with 50% less sugar. Some of the flavors even are made with purple carrots! Lego Review and Giveaway

I remember spending hours playing with my Legos. They are so fun! Well Lego has gotten even cooler over the years. Where have I been? My boys are starting to get to the age where they are really interested in all the parts.

We received the CITY Off-Road Vehicle & Jet Scooter and the City Quad and boy did we have fun! The boys would have just been content playing with the pieces alone but then they saw the pictures on the boxes and I knew we had to put them together. What a great bonding time! Ki and Jackson loved the little guys that came with the sets and had a blast when the kits were completed. I really like how the wheels actually let the vehicle and quad move (much different from when I was little) and the details in the parts. Ki and Jackson also loved to take the pieces apart and figure out how to put them back together. It kept them busy!

I'm Fabulous!

At least Suzy Q Homemaker seems to think so! I have been really wanting this. Just look at her! She looks like she just stepped off the Champs E'lysees( a ritzy mall) in France. One of these days when I'm a little more organized I will get all my awards together on my sidebar- as if I have so many!

By the way, do you notice anything different? I am so grateful for my new look from Blogger Boutique! She gave me a face lift and I love it! She designed the header for free thanks to my very generous pal Andreah over at Life's A Hoot- who by the way is having a Big Birthday Giveaway Bash!.

Ok now on to the rules of the award. My 5 addictions:

1. Netflix. It is so awesome- does anyone say awesome any more? It has been my saving grace since I live in no man's land. The last movie I watched from them was The Women. Have you seen it? Please Don't ! It's a train wreck. I did love Meg Ryan's hair at the end though. Anyways, Netflix is the best. How do video stores stay in business now?
2. My house. It's winter and I have hardly any stores around me. We drive to other towns for something to do but that is getting old. When we go I have been getting homesick lately. Not in an unhealthy way. I just miss it. I don't like getting out of my routine because when we have been gone for so long my house just falls apart!
3. Workout pants. I know it's the biggest fashion faux pas but they are just so darn comfortable! Plus it's hard for me to find a pair that fits evenly with my high hips and little no butt. What a great visual! So when I find one that almost works and is on sale I snatch it up.
4. Magazines! Oh they have everything- recipes, tips on how not to flip out on my kids, health news. I can't get enough of them. I did have a HUGE collection that I kept meaning to go through. They have followed me from so many moves and I finally just threw them all out. It was so freeing. But now I have a new collection starting next to my couch that I need to nip in the butt.
5. Well here's a few in one because they don't really count since almost everyone has them too. Chocolate, Twilight books, and wedding cake!

Snacktrition Review and Giveaway

Everyone by now knows that nuts are good for you but do you know what's on your nut? I never thought about it before until I tried Snacktrition's nuts. I was able to sample out Snacktrition snacks and can really tell the difference between the stuff in the can and Snacktrition. The difference is that most other brands of nuts roast their nuts in oil. That can't be good , right?

But Snactrition nuts are "health- baked".

Metromint Review and Giveaway

Eleven Shoes Review and Giveaway

Eleven's shoes are the trendiest things my son Ki has ever worn before. He loves to strut around the house in his underwear and the "Kai" shoes they sent him. I going to take a minute to be a cheese ball. I have been given so much this week from fellow bloggers! I wanted to thank them all on my blog so that you can go check out their blog and see how awesome they are! First off Andreah at Life's A Hoot won a flashing header for her blog from BloggerBoutique and she gave it to me! (it will be up soon!) Can you believe it? Cody said she probably felt sorry for how basic my blog is- the stinker- but I know it's because she is a great heart and an adorable blog!

Then I won a beautiful print of the Savior from Trying to Stay Calm pictured above. She is so giving, she always makes my day! If you go to her blog you will see that she has a TON of followers but not because she does a bunch of giveaways. She's just a sweet person!

Bananas Foster French Toast

Cody and I have been soooooooooo bored since winter has hit and Cody was laid off from the Railroad. The Railroad does it every year for a couple of months but Cody found a job with a bank. He won't start for maybe another two weeks. Some days we drive each other nuts, but we have discovered something to give us hope. I was looking on Food Network website and found all these yummy recipes. We decided to each pick out a recipe we would want to eat and then make them for each other. I picked a macaroni and cheese dish that I won't even give the link to because it just wasn't that good. BUT I made the Bananas Foster French Toast ( the pic is of a similar recipe) and it was to die for! If you love sugar you will love this! It is so fattening and unhealthy and soo good! The recipe calls for Rum but we didn't use it. Just lots of pure buttery love! Promise me you will make this!? Please!

Cody had to help me in the end and it was fun to go to the store to buy our ingredients and then work on something for each other. I really would like to do this once a month. The missionaries came by and we told them about it so now next Saturday we are having them over to show them how to make it!

If you have a significant other (sorry, I don't mean to single out the single sistas), what do you like to do to bond with each other? I really would like to know!

One of my sweet blogging friends, Leah, asked me if she could subscribe to my blog. I don't know why but I have been nervous about that because I just don't really know how to use it. Normally my hubby won't take pills, (I can barely get him to take a vitamin) but he has really been struggling to stay awake though out the day since he gave up Coca Cola a week ago. He noticed a difference right away. He took one dose before bed and didn't have any problems sleeping through the night. The next day when the boys came in to wake us up I got to sleep in while Cody got up with them! Wow, this benefits me too! He has noticed energy throughout the day but doesn't seem wired or anything.
